Personal:
My passion is for contributing to a learning community that is dedicated to enriching and fortifying the growth of students and staff in higher education and business to become lifelong learners and contributors to their chosen communities. It is my belief this occurs in and out of the classroom and business continuing after graduation, through life, with continued contact and involvement with that learning community. I also have experience in hiring, supervising and maintaining a staff of over 90 w-4 employees, networking with communities and businesses, sales and retention, training (clinical and administrative), ongoing supervision, and creating an LLC`s infrastructure, ultimately into a $600,000 gross revenue business.
I have exemplary management and organizational skills. For example, starting in graduate school at Purdue University, I interned in the International Student Services office from 1985-1986. Among my duties were organizing a 4 day orientation for the incoming international students (undergraduate and graduate students) running outreach and social activities at the International Student Center on campus, reading transcripts and applications for admission to Purdue from all over the world, and being a liaison with students, helping with their adjustment to life in USA. I have used this skill base throughout my career. Montgomery College in Maryland is a very culturally diverse college, many of my students were from countries all over the world. I am able to be sensitive to special needs that people have with language, cultural adjustments, and academic concerns as well as non-traditional students` and employees needs.
