Accomplishments
Although I am young and still ambitious I feel as if my accomplishments could be greater. I have not had much opportunity to expand my list of accomplishments, however I also feel as if I have accomplished many things.
I headed up a staff of cart employees who when first hired were not very motivated to do their job correctly. In essence, instead of getting on to them or threatening to take their jobs away I came up with what I believe to be a much better alternative. I wrote unassisted a cart employee reference manual. This included rules, what exactly their job description is and what they will be expected to accomplish on a daily basis. This also included a contract providing proof that the employees knew what their job was and how to do it, and was read over and discussed with them before signing. Needless to say, the cart staff started doing a lot better after that. That's something I feel is important within a business. We could sit and yell at every one of the employees until they get it right or we could think of a way to motivate them in different ways so that they don't feel threatened.
During my tenure with Palatka Golf Course I also conducted several tournaments independently including all of the planning, scheduling, composing scoreboards, and arranging staff as needed.
Experience
May 2009 to May 2012
Palatka Golf Club est.1925 Palatka, Florida
Assistant Professional
I was the assistant professional at the Palatka Golf Club est. 1925. I was head of the cart staff and managed the kitchen. I have no experience in the kitchen but I was to make sure nothing went wrong. I was responsible for every action or problem that occurred when the head pro or general manager was not there. I have never had a problem with customer service because every situation that has presented itself to possibly be bad I have overcome in a way in which the customer is always happy. I monitored the daily activities of customer support teams and successfully managed the activities of team members in multiple locations.
Education
2014 St. Johns River State College Palatka, Florida
High School Diploma Business Management
I am starting my second semester at St. Johns River State College in January. I am studying Business Management because I have plans to become a general manager at one of the most prestige golf courses in the United States. I am taking my courses on-line so that I can work and gain as much experience as I can along the way. I want to become the best certified PGA member that I can be and I'm sure that I have a promising career in the game of golf.
