Controller Specialty Products

Reporting to the CFO, Sarbanes-Oxley internal audits, and made improvements to the Company’s inventory systems, by establishing new reporting tools. When incumbent left, became Controller of Century Fiberglass business, responsible for all accounting elements, including month-end close, account reconciliations and forecasting/budgeting. Closed the Century plant and returned to TAG HQ. Did SOX work for JBPCO (parent company), as well as assistance with YE audit, and 10k review. In March 2011, was given financial responsibility for the Specialty Products Division, a growing fiberglass producer.

CFS, South Bend, Indiana 2006-2007

Assigned to Medtec Ambulance, a Division of Oshkosh Truck Corporation, in Goshen, Indiana. Completely reviewed the Company’s purchase to pay processes, and wrote new receiving work instructions. Developed new application of % complete on WIP machines, and developed pivot table in excel for use in cycle counting warehouse. Updated Item Master allowing an electronic three way match

ICG CASTINGS, INC., Dowagiac, Michigan 2005-2006

Division Controller

Financial management of a multi-plant, Tier 1 aluminum die caster, serving automotive customers. Through acquisition, and takeover business, a $70 million company in 2006, with extreme cash issues.Installed daily cash management control system to meet loan availability levels, and allowing company to invest as required. Also reduced staffing during this period, prior to plant closure.Studied the IT requirements of the business, and changed the direction of the Company, simplifying the computer network, and making it easier to use.

FINN CORPORATION, Fairfield, Ohio 2002-2005

Controller and Treasurer

Financial leader and HR manager of a holding company and three subsidiaries. Company is a $50 million producer of erosion control equipment and supplies for worldwide customers.Managed integration of $10.5 million acquisition with existing company. Organized to close open acquisition issues, meet payroll and benefit needs of 27 person workforce in Eugene, Oregon, and set up accounting system to have first close in 60 days.Installed Syteline ERP system, after search process verified the benefits, and prepared detailed cost justification for management review.Equity ownership forced management change in 2005, due to sales programs that did not perform.

CFO and Controller

Full responsibility for accounting, finance, risk management, treasury, and information technology for a $150 million, Tier 1 manufacturer of aluminum wheels for the automotive industry.Developed productivity tools, and led effort to create a profitable organization for the first time in Company history, overcoming union labor issues and supervisor paradigms.Site selection for a new plant that was located close to the major aluminum plating supplier in Canada. Decision forced Mason plant closure.

Controller, Precision Die Castings 1995-1999

Complete financial responsibility for all elements of profitable, growing, multi-plant, QS-9000 compliant, $150 million product line serving automotive industry with engineered and manufactured aluminum die castings. Cost reduction project to move management from Auburn Hills to Solon, Ohio in 1997.Led financial activities to sell business for $30 million over book value. Prepared financial data for prospectus, established data room, met with candidates for purchase and systematically responded to requests for information with timely, accurate data.Implemented activity based cost system illustrating strategic value of diverse businesses.Recommended and negotiated future proposal for European joint venture expanding businessTransition leader for company, which ITT Industries divested as part of planned exit from automotive industry. Government Accounting Manager, Naval Systems Division 1990-1994Negotiated settlement of multi-million dollar cost allowability item exceeding forecasted expectations, for costs arising from controversial court-ordered consent decree.

Presented research to Washington Program Office, and received government approval to transfer costs from fixed price to cost sharing contracts, resulting in revenue and profit enhancement totaling $3 million.
