Directed the Custom Agency Strategy, aimed at improving the quality
and productivity of business with strategic customers, resulting in
65% reduction in agents while increasing volume and improving
underwriting expense ratio by 5.8 points.
Implemented and managed the start-up operation of the Association
Marketing Office in Durham, North Carolina and directed 2 national
programs, Anheuser Busch Wholesalers and International Council of
Shopping Centers, including staffing of 30 employees and generating
premiums of $17 million in the first year.
Downsized Kansas City office as part of corporate restructuring from
60 employees to 25, improving productivity and results. Effectively
led the operation, personally managing the loss control, underwriting
and claim functions for over 6 months during the transition. Won the
Presidents Award of Excellence for best branch results for the 4th
quarter, 1985.
As Regional Marketing Manager, led 5 state agency management team with
23 offices and 2,000 agents with annual premiums of $300 million.
Implemented streamlining strategy closing 8 service offices in 18
months with no loss in premiums, improving expense ratio and reducing
expenses by $6.5 million.
