Annie Savage

Annie is currently serving as the String Education TA at the University of Colorado Boulder and the founder
of Savage ddler.com. In addition to the classes she teaches at CU, she offers private stringed instrument
lessons at Brightwood Music in Nederland, CO and throughout the Boulder area. As an award winning
ddler from the age of 5, she performs in multiple musical projects in the front range, from the Acoustic
Mining Company to guest spots with Spring Creek and other Lyons-based bluegrass bands. As a
conservatory-trained harpist, Annie is available to perform weddings, theater gigs, orchestra concerts and
events on contract. Through these varied talents and many years as a performer and orchestra director, she
has developed a background in music education and loves to bring this enthusiasm and the gift of music to
young people through workshops and private lessons.

2002-2009 MCKINLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL, DIRECTOR OF ORCHESTRAS (CEDAR RAPIDS, IA)
*Increased the total number of orchestra students from 65 to 203 through enthusiasm and innovative
recruitment techniques.
*Director of award winning McKinley Harp Ensemble, McKinley Symphony, Jefferson Fiddle Club and founder
of McKinley Guitar Club and Rock Band 101. Chair of Metropolitan Orchestra Festival (2008) and
Washington Orchestra Festival
*Chamber ensemble selected as one of three groups in the state to perform at annual Iowa String Teacher s
Association (2006).
*Raised over $50,000 for instrumental music at McKinley through performances and community alliances.
