Keeps utilization records and reports defects in operation.Operates a computer terminal to receive and issue MILES equipment. Performs data input and initiate work orders. Conducts inventories and location surveys of items in storage, makes surveillance inspections for obvious preservation needs and reports to Supervisor. Monitors loading and disposition to ensure proper shipment and to prevent loss or damage. Receives, unloads, and processes incoming shipments. Selects items for shipment or issues verifying or preparing documentation either manually or by using automated equipment. Using DSS generated pick tickets or manual systems and material-handling equipment as necessary, locates the material, and selects the stock ensuring inventory accuracy.Repairs and installs storage and shipping items such as boxes, small crates, pallets, dividers and storage bins using wood, wood composites and substitutes, steel bracing and appropriate tools.
