Sailing as an Unlimited AB on many types of vessels over much of the world s oceans, I have gained the skills and
experience needed to get the job done in a safe, efficient and professional manner. I am passionate about working on
the water and look forward to progressing as a mariner.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Stabbert Maritime - R/V Ocean Pioneer
2009 - Present
Served as an AB (Bosun) aboard a research vessel operating throughout the world. Projects include maintaining
Tsunami Buoys for the NOAA- D.A.R.T. program throughout the North & South Pacific, Atlantic and Caribbean
as well as NOAA weather buoy maintenance. Research for the U.S. and Canadian Navy in Hawaii, California
and British Columbia. Nuclear research at Amchitka Island, Alaska for the Department of Energy and oilfield
ROV and anchor recovery work with Exxon and Global Diving in California. Lots of crane and A-frame work,
assisting up to 18 scientific clients on deck as well as performing regular boat maintenance and lookout/helmsman
duties.
Stabbert Maritime - DSV Ocean Pioneer
2007-2008
Served as an AB (Bosun) aboard a 4 point anchor dive boat chartered by Deep Marine Technologies. Assisted a
team of 20 commercial divers in the Gulf of Mexico and Trinidad doing repair and salvage for the oil industry.
Ran and maintained 2 waterfall winches, controlling 4 anchors simultaneously with up to 5000 of wire rope on
each anchor. Worked closely with the Captain, officers and client to use the anchor winches to maneuver the
boat. Also supervised the deck department during boat maintenance, drills, line handling, etc.
Stabbert Maritime - R/V Ocean Leader
Fall/Winter 2006
Served as an AB aboard a research vessel, chartered by Fugro and Pemex, off the east coast of Mexico.
Assisted a scientific drill crew to drill core samples for oil exploration. Ran 4 point anchor winches as well
as performed regular boat maintenance and lookout/ helmsman duties.
Coastal Transportation - M/V Coastal Sea
2006
Served as an OS/ Wiper aboard a break bulk tramper. The boat ran a regular route between Seattle and points
along the Inside Passage, Alaska Peninsula, Aleutian Islands and throughout the Bering Sea servicing the fishing
industry. Ran yard and stay gear, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Lots of line handling and cargo securing as well as
regular boat maintenance and lookout/ helmsman duties. Also served throughout the fleet of seven boats.
Icicle Seafoods - P/V Arctic Star
2003 - 2005
Served aboard a processing vessel during 11 fishing seasons in the Bering Sea. Seasons included King & Opilio
crab, salmon, herring, and cod. Supervised a crew of up to 25, setting a company production record during the
2005 herring season. Lots of crane and forklift work as well as fabrication and plumbing set up of processing
equipment in between seasons.
