Director of Environmental Services

Direct supervision of 36 full-time, 1 part-time and 3 contract employees, including custodians, housekeepers and laundry personnel. Responsible for work schedules, payroll reconciliation, development of policies and procedures, ongoing education, direct supervision and other related duties. Responsible for storage, manifesting and shipping regulated medical waste, hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste, recycling and solid waste. Our department provided services to over 30 other departments located in 14 buildings in Malone and surrounding communities. I have been successful in keeping our department under budget, streamlined operations, converted the department to the computer age and totally revamped policies and procedures to better utilize the staffs' talents.

Town Supervisor

This was an elected position. I was the chief fiscal officer for the Town of Malone, responsible for developing and maintaining annual budgets, reconciling books per New York State guidelines and the daily operations of the Town offices, airport, landfill and highway department. Over a four year term, we were successful in reducing the budget, increasing the fund balance, reducing taxes, increasing services and securing monies to close the landfill according to state and federal regulations without additional burden to local taxpayers.

Owner of a successful rubbish and recycling firm, Over a twenty year period, I have managed to run a profitable business each year while adhering to ever stricter local,state and federal regulations and competing against large corporations by providing personal, reliable and affordable services. From 1997 through 1999 I also established and operated a very popular fast food/ice cream shop named O`SHEA`S in Malone .

Education: Graduate of Franklin Academy High School - Malone, New York

Received a regents diploma and regents scholarship. Awards received for music and baseball.

I also have experience in the insurance industry as both a salesman and a marketing representative.

I am an accomplished musician and have been honored to serve as director of the Franklin Academy stage band for three years and director of the jazz ensemble for one year.

Locally, I have coached t-ball, little league, soccer, and Lion's League baseball . I am a former volunteer firefighter and EMT. I am also a past President of the Malone JAYCEES.

My real passions are music and golf.
