Experience
March 2005 to Current
The ADS Group Plymouth, Minnesota
Engineering Technician/Shift Technician
When I first started with The ADS Group I brought a couple of machines out of disrepair and into steady, consistent production. I saved hand assembly some work by teaching them how to use the machines at their disposal. Since then, I have sold a couple machines and brought in a few more capable machines, helping in the constant growth of our company. I order and stock new parts and install those parts as necessary. In this facility I have dramatically dropped the cost of repair and maintenance by finding local vendors with the same product at an extremely reduced cost from that of the OEM. I have also helped design a new floor plan and expansion package for packaging and hand assembly on two separate occasions. CD and DVD replication (injection molding) as well as print have also been a part of my duties. Most recently I had the opportunity to re-engineer an older machine to box the same product in an different box. As the world becomes more earth conscious and moves toward more recyclable products this will become more and more necessary to offset the cost of new machinery.
November 2001 to March 2005
Technicolor Memphis, Tennessee
Engineering Technician/Shift Technician
Troubleshoot and maintain the mechanics and electronics of fast pace production machinery: AC/DC stepper and servo motors, relays, contacts, gears and gear boxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, handling robots and much more! While in Virginia I worked in DVD Replication. During this time I mainly worked on Sumitomo presses with Singulis Spacelines(DVD) and Skyline(CD). The plastic dryer system was mainly Motan. When the company did a little restructuring and replication was moved to Mexico. At this time I was transfered to Memphis, TN to help start up an enormous packaging plant. For the last two years at this location, I was in a leadership role as the lead tech on my shift.
August 1996 to May 2001
HMT Technologies/Komag Eugene, OR
Process technician/working supervisor
I Started out here as a machine operator and quickly moved into a lead position. In a very short time I became a "working supervisor". a couple of years later I moved into engineering as a process technician. My main functions here were to monitor/control process and make adjustments as necessary using SPC and documented procedure. I worked closely with "purchasers and suppliers", internal and external, in order to maintain a high quality hard drive disc. I used such computer programs as Excel, Word, AccessPowerPoint, Lotus Notes, etc.
