deployed manufacturing application.This project involved very

large-scale reverse engineering working with many team members, and

intense SCO-UNIX environment setup and database tuning to address

client-server performance issues. Role as DBA included supervising and

coordinating efforts of many teams of developers concurrently.

1993

-04/96 Designed software for court management and criminal justice

systems in the State of Texas. These systems with up to 300 users,

have highly complex data relations, strict security requirements, and

interface with D.P.S. via telecommunication protocols. Lead the

company in detailed research of current RDBMS market and converting

legacy system to PROGRESS. The conversion included setting up

relational tables and procedures and training associates in

relational, O-O, and RAD technology. My role was team leader in all

database related activity and acting DBA for all projects.

1990

-1993 Software Engineering Research Center @NASA/JSC Installed,

designed, trained users, and administered databases using Oracle, Pick

and Informix. These databases served such tasks as managing the

Research Center's published articles and papers, maintaining a

repository of reusable program source code. I created budgets and

project plans and also authored technical papers for publication and

gave technical presentations to NASA community.

1987

-1990Software Engineering Research Center @NASA/JSC Team leader

using the Clear-Lake Life Cycle Model to prototype repository-based

Operating System for distributed real-time environments such as Space

Station and Lunar Outpost. The model is based on Object-Oriented and

EA/RA methodology however many of the components were built using

relational engines with C front ends.

1988

Private Contract (Georgetown Exploration Inc) Converted database

from Informix on DEC to DBill on Intel-PC. Project included retrieving

existing financial data from DEC Informix, setting up new tables and

procedures in DBIII, repopulating the new database with the original

data and generating reports into CSV files to import into Lotus

spreadsheet.

1987

Private Contract (Commercial Mortgage Network) Designed entire

system for real estate application using Pick (for the main host) and

AREV (for remote nodes). The database matched prospective clients with

lending institutions nationwide. Responsibilities included the entire

software design, hardware procurement and training the employees on

the resultant system.

Motorola instructional computer for Hickok Electrical Instrument

Company based on Motorola 68K based CPU. Designed machine language

course and wrote user's guide to accompany the computer
