Work Experience

Cantor (August 2010-Present)

Temple Torah of West Boynton Beach (8600 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33472)

As the full-time Cantor of a 600 unit congregation, duties included: leading davening for High Holidays, Festivals, and

Shabbat services, teaching Jewish Music for the preschool twice a week, and teaching in the Hebrew school program.

Responsibilities also included being the primary B nai Mitzvah tutor, Adult Education, and directing the Volunteer Choir.

Founded Synagogue Entertainment Series, an ongoing project currently grossing over $15,000 in income and projected

to produce a net income of $20,000, the series will feature three events over the course of the 2012-2013 Jewish Year

including: comedian Steve Solomon, a Cantors Concert featuring Cantor David Propis and other Cantors, and a

collaborative project between the Palm Beach Opera s Young Artist Program which will split the proceeds of that

specific event.

Coordinated Cantor s Installation Concert 2012, a formal installation event that resulted in a net profit of $15,000 with

an approximate attendance of 800 people, featured Cantors Alberto Mizrahi and David Propis.

Assisted in the establishment of Mercaz: The Teen Center currently in its inaugural year, the program features a 8th

grade education/youth activity hybrid program and will be taught jointly by myself, the Rabbi and the Education

Director. The Mercaz Teen Center will also include a monthly Lunch and Learn program on Shabbat afternoon with

students in grades 9-12 facilitated by myself and the Rabbi.

Redesigned the Shabbat With a Twist (Friday Night Live) service which resulted in a stronger link between the

members of the volunteer Congregant based band; overhauled the musical program to include a more Rock and Roll

feel, and spearheaded the creation of the Shabbat with a Twist Siddur ; a custom made Siddur designed in

collaboration with the local Jewish Federation. It features commissioned illustration, full Hebrew text, translation,

transliteration, and English song lyrics to facilitate greater congregant participation.

Assisted in the establishment of Shabbat B yachad an interactive Shabbat morning family service.

Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, Funeral Home Rotation- This rotation allows students to follow Rabbinical and

Cantorial students have an exciting opportunity to learn firsthand about what goes on at a Jewish funeral home, from

the time of death through the moment of burial. Participants are given the option of observing a Tahara (if available),

chances to speak with active and retired clergy members about how they prepare for a funeral. Speakers included

Rabbi David Lincoln, Rabbi Gordon Tucker, and Rabbi Alan Schrantz.
