Three years as primary DBA/SE for Occidental's SQL database servers inthe

responsibility for database and operating system administration, load balancing,
design and authoring of administrative scripts using UNIX C-shell and TRANSACT
SQL, performance and tuning, and tutoring application programmers in efficient
database design and SQL coding techniques.
Two years as backup DB2 DBA for the Corporate office. Areas of expertise
include DB2 rights administration, binding of plans and generation of associated
CICS/CSP applications, job scheduling, and assorted MVS and CICS security and
support tasks.

A three year effort to automate the environmental safety and medical record
keeping and government reporting function for the entire Corporation.This
system originally used Flow Gemini database management software and the FORTRAN
and REXX programming languages on the Corporation's IBM 3081 mainframecomputer
under the CMS operating system, and dBase III and the Clipper compileron IBM
PS/2 hardware under DOS 3.3. The mainframe component of this system was revised
to utilize DB2 and FORTRAN programs containing embedded SQL in an MVS/TSO
environment on an IBM 3090 mainframe. Specific tasks included functional
requirements definition; the design, programming, implementation, and
integration of PC and mainframe-based components, including programs to
administer the maintenance of parallel databases on PCs and the mainframe;
system optimization; and, documentation;
Programming of reports and screen panels using the RAMIS SBX and Reporter
languages for use by the Corporate and divisional Security and Health,
Environment, and Safety Departments on the Corporation's IBM 3090 mainframe
computer using the MVS/TSO operating system;
Conceptualization, design, development, and user training for database
applications for the company's building inventory and philanthropic departments;

various persons in the Corporate Headquarters;

Managed a staff of three full-time programmer/analysts in the definition,
analysis, development, and implementation of a Bankruptcy Accounting System for
a medium-sized California banking institution. The system provides account
management, checkwriting, asset management, and full Federal and Statereporting
for bank management, Federal bankruptcy courts and appointed fiduciaries. The
system was prototyped using R:Base 5000 database management software on an
enhanced IBM PC/AT using IBM PC Network software and Smartcom II. The
production version of the system was written on the same hardware using the
Xenix operating system, the C programming language, and the Informix database
management system.
Solely responsible for the design, coding, and implementation of a Franchisee
Billing System for a major banking services company. The system captures and
maintains transaction volumes of franchisee utilization of the bank's various
product offerings in a linked network environment (micro to mainframe).
Demographic data and rate information for each client is maintained insupport
of monthly invoice production. In addition, the system provides for retention
of all historical invoice detail data, which is used in a forecasting model and
the production of year-to-date management information reports. The system was
implemented on an IBM PC/XT under DOS 3.0 using dBase III Plus. Additional
tasks performed included systems and user documentation and user training.
Designed and implemented a sales tracking system for a major telecommunications
company using dBase III on an IBM PC/XT. The system provides for the capture
and reporting of lead source effectiveness, sales contact histories, personnel
activity, and customer records. Tasks performed included file and screen
design, programming, implementation, testing, and user training.
