Management of Infectious Disease R&D Group

Responsible for research, development and launch of infectious disease product-pipeline.

Managed groups responsible for launching multi-analyte in-clinic tests (Annual

Revenue, $US 60M)

Successfully managed early New Product Development teams working on two new in-

clinic assays (pipeline products) for canine and feline infectious diseases.

Created and managed Research and Technical Deliverables for use by Product

Responsible for creating Project Charter, moving the Project from Phase 1 (Early

Research/Concept) to Phase 4 (Development), conducting Technical Meetings and Core

Team Meetings. Responsibilities included Project management, interactions with Regulatory,

Operations, QA and Marketing. Supervised a team of one Scientist and four Research

Associates.

SENIOR SCIENTIST AND GROUP LEADER January 1998 to June 2002

Management of Molecular and Immunodiagnostic Assay Groups

- Responsible for research and development of new immunoassays and PCR Assays for

Heska Diagnostic Laboratory.

- Supervised a group of five Scientists (including two Ph.D. Scientists).

- Designed, developed, and evaluated molecular and immunodiagnostic assays for the

diagnosis of parasitic and infectious agents in companion animals.

- Primary person responsible for the management and coordination of projects under

aggressive time-lines.

- Responsible for transfer of assays, documentation and SOPs.

- Interacted extensively with groups within the company (process and regulatory groups) and

outside the organization (external scientific/technical collaborations with both academia and

- Designed and coordinated several clinical studies for vaccine efficacy trials (dogs

and cats).

nematode antigens against heartworm infections and evaluated by clinical trials in

Identified five potential recombinant antigens by proteomics and cloned for
