Implemented the Inter-Cellular Roaming of Subscribers routing plan,
which provides
roaming between the GSM, IS41 and Iridium Networks.
Designed Frequency Hopping on the micro cell platform of the GSM Base
Transceiver Station (BTS).
Implemented support of the Enhanced Full Rate speech version on the
GSM BSS
call process to improve speech quality.
Designed a method of channel re-configuration in the BSS, because of
the change in
the configuration of a radio Receive Transmit Function (RTF), to
conserve the E1/T1
time slots over the BSC-BTS interface.
Re-engineered the Cell Resource Manager process of the BSS Call
Processing using
Real Time Object Oriented Methodology (ROOM). The process is
responsible for
all the logical configuration, maintenance and allocation of a cell as
carriers, time
slots and channels. It performs Immediate Assignment, Assignment,
Emergency
Call Preemption, Call Queuing, Handovers etc.
Designed and implemented the Advice of Charge supplementary service on
the
MSC, to give the charges incurred on a call in real time.
Designed and implemented the mobility management for Short Message
Services in
the Mobility Data Management layer of the MSC Call Process.
Designed and implementedmanagement of the application layers in the
Mobility Data Management layer of the MSC Call Process.
Developed a Call Record Capturing (billing) platform, and also
developed an
interface for reporting the data to the Automatic Message Accounting
system.
Designed and implemented a Logs base and an Operational Measurements
interface,
for reporting the noticeable behavior and statistics, respectively, of
the MSC.
Other Responsibilities:
Wrote compliance documents to conform the GSM BSS product from the GSM
Specifications and the customer specifications.
Worked as a field support and lab support person, for problem
resolution and
technical assistance, for the customers and system testers.
Conducted classes and mentoring for training of new and experienced
fellow workers
in the project team.
Worked as a Software Quality Assurance and a Technology Change
Management
team member for achieving the SEI maturity levels.
