Work Experience
Bency and Associates LLC, Albuquerque, NM 2/97 to PresentIT Consulting Manager and Senior Consultant
As an IT Consulting Manager my primary duties included: Defining and negotiating service
plans with all levels of client management, building and managing the individual
consultants and consulting teams, reviewing proposals, defining scope of work, producing
project schedules, and performing assessments
As a
Senior Consultant I
worked for two corporations, Furrs Supermarkets and Public
Service Company of New Mexico
(PNM)
I worked on four projects while at Furrs Supermarkets. The first project was to develop
and maintain their Trade Data Sales system. I took this system from the test environment
to the production environment.
The second project was to analyze the feasibility of implementing a Competitive Pricing
system. This project involved only the analysis stage of the project life cycles to
determine which vendor software they would use, or if software needed to be written.
The third project was to create an Inventory Reduction program. This allowed the
corporate users to determine how much excess stock they were caring in their stores.
The fourth project consisted of installing the Time and Attendance software from a Unix
platform to an NT server for desktop use for approximately 70 stores.
I worked on three projects while I was with PNM. The first project included programming
in C using an Oracle database on a Unix/HP platform to produce reports for the BANNER
billing system project (conversion of the billing system from Mainframe to client/server).
On the second project I was a Y2K project consultant. I worked with the core IT project
team. The primary function of this team was to coordinate century-date compliance projects
across an enterprise.
The third project involved work on their inventory and procurement system. The system
that PNM was using was PASSPORT, which is an Enterprise Assets Management system.

I supported the Digital Integrated Modeling Environment (DIME) system. This system
provides a consistent approach to setting up model runs and analyzing model outputs via a

developing and maintaining threat, aircraft signatures, and vulnerability data.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield and CSD, Albuquerque, NM 9/91 to 6/96.
Systems Analyst and Team Leader
I provided comprehensive programming solutions to automated systems problems, in response
to the strategic plans and tactical directions of clients. I developed and provided
detailed specifications, designs, and documentation in support of the Information Systems
and Customer Service staffs. As a Team Leader I promoted quality through enforcement of
standardized methods and procedures, reduction of problem incidents and management of
change control. I was team lead for the Medicare HOT TEAM, Production Control and
Operations.
