Objective: seek a
challenging position in software engineering
Summary:* 5+ years of
experience with C/C++ programming as a software engineer.* Key member
of a team for developing advanced image/video coding technology.*
Major contributor to an ARPA funded research preoject.* Ph.D. in
physics.
Experience:
1993 --- present:Software engineer, Vector Vision,
Inc
. PA* Implemented C/C++ codes of the shape adaptive wavelet coding
technique into MPEG-4 reference software. The shape adaptive wavelet
coding technique was proposed by Vector Vision, Inc. for coding
arbitrarily shaped visual objects. The shape adaptive wavelet coding
technique is accepted into MPEG-4 Visual Committee Draft (Version 1).*
Implemented C/C++ codes of the bit-plane coding technique into MPEG-4
core experiment software. The bit-plane coding technique was proposed
by Vector Vision, Inc. for coding the DCT coefficients. This technique
is currently being considered for MPEG-4 Version 2.* Developed C code
software for an ARPA funded project on Robust Digital Wireless Video
Communication Systems. The results of this project have shown that,
compared with MPEG-1, vector-based video coding technique has more
robust performance when compressed video is transmitted through a
noisy wireless channel with bit-error-rate upto 10e-2.* Developed C
code softwares for advanced image/video coding techniques on
PC/Windows platform. This project was funded by State of PA. The
result of this project was a real-time software-based video decoder on
PCs and a real-time Internet video-on-demand demonstration on SUN
Workstations.1992
