Texas Department of Transportation Snyder, Texas
General Transportation Tech III
At the Texas Department of Transportation I operated several types of heavy equipment and used various hand and power tools. During certain jobs I lifted 90 and 47 pound sacks of Portland cement which were mixed with other materials to repair roads. I have been left in charge of a crew to get various jobs done in which I was given instructions on what needed to be accomplished and I communicated what needed to be done to the others on the crew. While employed with TxDOT I responded to various emergency situations in which I worked with DPS and other agencies. I have set up traffic control for accidents on the highway in rain and snow at both day and night. I have cleared snow and ice from road ways at night and during the day. I operated a motor grader in large scale fires to assist fire fighters at night to cut fire breaks.
November 2008 to May 2009
Weaver Construction Snyder, Texas
Heavy Equipment Operator
During my six months at Weaver Construction I operated heavy equipment to build pads for electrical sub stations. I used a GPS mounted system on a motor grader that displayed plans for the job site. I used both a motor grader and a dozer to cut the site to grade. I used a skid steer loader to level rock in and around transformers and other structures on hot electrical sub stations. While there we used JSA's every day.

At TxDOT I did several jobs and operated several pieces of equipment. I have laid various materials using a motor grader on FM, SH, and US highways. I have preformed various other duties using several types of heavy and light equipment such as front end loaders, a dozer, skid steer loaders, back hoes, and dump trucks to haul materials, to repair and maintain roads, and to build roads. I have used formulas to calculate the amount of materials needed on some of these jobs. While at TxDOT I also used various hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, ratchets, screw drivers, drills, chainsaws and band saws.
