Experience

TEXTRON, TEXTRON SYstems, AAI, Hunt Valley, MD 2010-2012

Project / Systems Engineer IV on Ground Control System for Army’s LEMV (Long Endurance UAV for ISR) contract. Tasks included trade studies for System Architectures, Requirements analysis, definition, and allocation, developing Basis of Estimates for Proposals, revising contract SOW, generating subcontractor SOW, performing as Technical Point of Contact to the customer, supporting multiple Technical and weekly Status meetings with customer, ensuring on time CDRL/SDRL deliveries, supervising weekly SEIT meetings with internal team leads, creating SRR, PDR, CDR, and IPR presentations for milestone reviews, and supporting contract renegotiations due to revised customer requirements. For IRADs, tasks also included facilitating wireless communication and video demonstration success on FASTCOM and ensuring pre-production delivery of T-REx, using Agile, for US Marines Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). Performed System Engineering tasks for Information Assurance certification sustainment on OSRVT Increment I and II.

Lockheed Martin, Baltimore, MD 1996-2010

Project Engineer (2007-2010) for Navy’s EDM-1 NLOS-LS Mission Module (NMM) Power Converter. Managed technical team of four engineers performing requirements, design, development, test and integration of NMM Power Converter for Mission Critical functions and three Navy Non Line Of Site-Launching Systems (NLOS-LS). Performed Contract negotiations, generated Statements of Work (SOW), Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and directly interfaced with Navy’s NMM Program Manager leading to capture of additional $800K in contract awards.

Lead System Engineer (2005-2010) for Navy Non-Line of Sight–Launching System (NLOS-LS). Supervised technical team of 10 engineers from Systems, Software, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering to integrate Navy’s requirements into current Army’s NLOS-LS System Design & Development (SDD) schedule while generating a Joint (Army & Navy) Launcher. Work stressed Synergistic approach to ensure Navy’s requirements were satisfied while minimizing impacts to Army’s contract. Generated CDRLs, Trade Studies, Requirements allocations and change notices, Navigation upgrades for shoot on the move, GPS Re-radiation Cover product development, integration testing, and missile firing on motion simulator. Involved Navy contracts negotiations and performed as Lockheed Martin primary POC to Navy customer. Received letter of recommendation from Navy Program Manager at NSWC Dahlgren, VA.

Principle Investigator (2001-2005) for Next Generation Launching System IRAD (Internal Research and Development). Lead team of Systems, Software, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineers toward Core Launching System Architectures incorporating cutting edge technology in family of Launch Control Systems (LCSs). Demonstrations included Wireless interfaces for data, power, and safety interlocks on missile launching systems as well as Middleware incorporation. Research included MEMS, Nanotechnology, Anti-Tamper, Information Assurance, Open Architecture, SBIR collaborations for GPS/Power/AT, low power ordnance activation, etc. Anti-Tamper Point of Contact (POC) for Lockheed Martin AT Technology Focus Group representing MS2 Baltimore. IRAD Demonstrations and Research were major contributing factors to capturing +$750 Million in launcher work for Army’s Non Line of Sight–Launching System (NLOS-LS).

Senior Staff Electronics Engineer (2001-2002), Lead Electronics Engineer on Market Analysis / Business Development for Aster missile integration within the Vertical Launching System (MK-41 VLS). Work included following ITAR restrictions while working with EADS Team members in Paris, France on Architecture Trade Studies for missile interface integration requirements.

Staff Electronics Engineer (1999-2001), Lead Electronics Engineer for developing Core Launch Control System Architectures (both Hardware & Software) for implementations in CRAD funded Concentric Cell Launcher (CCL), IRAD funded Single Cell Launcher (SCL), and DARPA funded NetFires launcher.

Martin MARIETTA, Baltimore, MD (became Lockheed Martin) 1985-1996

Staff Electronics Engineer (1995-1999) Software Engineer utilizing UML for OOA, OOD, and OOP for Ada, C++ and c programming for integrating existing and developing missile types into new baseline architectures for the Launch Sequencer hardware of the MK-41 Vertical Launching System (VLS).

Senior Electronics Engineer (1989-1995) Embedded Hardware and Firmware tasks for System Architecture upgrades to MK-41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) LSEQ (Launch Sequencer). Lead Engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing and integrating two different state machine Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) including five Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) designs as well as numerous EPLDs. Managed system test, debug, and integration of initial Engineering Design Model (EDM) LSEQs. Work also included OOA, OOD, and Ada programming for microprocessor based CCAs and reverse engineering assembly languages (Intel and Motorola) from prior LSEQ baselines.
