Objectives
Seeking a challenging engineering position in the field of Embedded
system design and/or programming (C/C ASIC, VLSI/CMOS Design;
DSP where a career minded team oriented professional can excel
Qualifications
Six years experience in Embedded system (8051, 80C251), AD and DA
design.
One year experience in C/C++ programming (MFC, COM)
Extensive hands-on experience on PCB circuit design Using ORCAD
& PSPICE.
Experience on ASIC, VLSI/CMOS Design.
Programming experience on PAL, DSP and FPGAs
Experience
1996
-PresentResearch Assistant, Subsurface Sensing lab, University of Houston.
Houston, TX
Thesis : Th e Multi Frequency EM Image Sounding System
This project is supported by Texas Department of Transportation. I
developed the hardware and software all by myself.
Designed and implemented an 8-channel 16-bit standalone Data
Acquisition board using 80C251 and AD 7885, the sampling rate of
the board is 40ksps.
Develop the control (DFT Algorithm) and communication software
for the multi frequency EM sounding system using C language.
. Design the Transmitter and Receiver for the multi frequency EM
sounding system.
Major Class Project :
Advanced Digital Design:
Experience with ASIC design on microprocessor core and instruction
set. Designed and developed a RTL-level microcontroller using
Verilog HDL, synthesized it at gate level using SYNOPSYS, and
programmed the logic circuits into FPGAs using Altera MAXplus II.
Work included logic level floor plan, memory interfacing, decoder
and hardware assembly.
Wireless Communication:
Simulated a complete Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Radio System
(Harris PRISM radio Chipset) using System View. Work include BPSK,
QPSK, and Spread Spectrum.
Microwave Transistor Amplifiers Analysis and Design
Designed/Simulated the DC biasing and matching network of a
Broadband amplifier with given noise figure using Radio Designer.
Distributed Oriented Computing
Designed A Building Access Control and Security Monitoring System
Using COM, visual C++, and Visual Basic.
1991
-1995Design Engineer, Shenyang Robotic Center, Shenyang, China
Project: Seam Tracking in Robotic welding.
This was known in China as National Science Foundation project. I
developed an embedded control system for the welding robotic to
perform seam tracking in CO2 welding. All the design, coding,
debugging, testing, implementation were done by myself.
Designed and implemented a standalone control board with 8051&
AD 0809 for Data Acquisition & control. The language used is MCS51
Assembly.
Developed a DSP Algorithm to detect the position of the welding
gun by extracting signal from the noisy welding current.
Education
1996
-1999 University of Houston. Houston, TX
Master of Engineering
in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
1987
-1991 Harbin Institute of Technology. Harbin, China
Bachelor of Engineering
in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
