Duties:
- I started working with the product when it was only about 2 years old and it was a very polarizing product. I had to learn not only the product but all of the research that goes with it. The research that I needed to be knowledgeable about was the positive and the negative papers as well as all of the bases of the authors.
- Sales presentations to all areas of rehabilitation: hospitals, inpatients rehabilitation centers, outpatient rehabilitation, short term nursing and long tern care facilities
- Work with both facilities and rehabilitation companies to have their Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) certified through a 26 CEU course to use VitalStim Therapy. Certification is required to be able to use the device.
- Once the SLP is certified, I then worked with them to get the facility to purchase the unit and electrodes which were not covered by any insurances companies.
- Once the facility had purchased the items then I began working with the local doctors, teaching them all about the program and how it would help their patients while they were in rehabilitation
- I continued to work with all facilities to market the program to all local doctors and hospitals so they would send their patients to the facilities that had VitalStim Therapy
- In 2008, a new unit named Experia was introduced to the market place, with a price tag of $14,000. There were 8 sold within my territory in the first year.
