Synopsis of Resume of James D. Tilford III

1994 to Present- Cruise Dreams and Travel- worked as travel consultant, aviation consultant, and tried my hand at the great American novel. Primarily sold group and individual cruises, and Disney packages.

1985 to 1994- Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot for QMS inc. an NYSE company involved with Advanced Computer Printer Manufacturing in Mobile, AL. I founded the Jet Aircraft Flight Department and supervised all facets of its operation.

1984 to 1985- Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot for Capital Broadcasting in Mobile. I founded this jet flight department also acquiring the aircraft. The duties were very much the same as above except we flew talent to Mobile and company executives to their remote sites mostly in the Southeast..

1982 to 1984- Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot for Fuel Services Inc. of Pascagoula This job was different from the two above as it was for an individual whose travel was 95% international personal flying and 5% Charter to Ingalls Ship building.

1979 to 1982- Jet Captain for the Mitchell Co.- Basically the same type of Corporate jet flying as the above jobs but Primarily in the Southeast. Great folks to work for but I was underemployed and needed to move on to the next level.

1978 to 1979- VP and General Manager of Executive Jet Aviation of Newport RI. This was a Turbine Aircraft commuter Airline with Flights between Newport RI, Providence RI, Boston and New York. We had 40 employees including pilots, mechanics, refuelers, schedulers, ticket agents and back office personnel. I ran this for its last year and a half and doubled sales. In addition to P&L, Budgetary, and hiring & firing; I also did direct selling to Raytheon, The Navy, the War College and local travel agencies.

1977 to 1978- I worked for Combs Gates of Indianapolis. I was General Manager of all operations reporting to a VP and General Manager. I had 250 Teamsters Union Employees here. I was hired specifically because the Company felt I had better people skills than the GM. One of our prime objectives was to decertify the Teamsters union. this industry.

1968 to 1977- Due to my father`s illness I left college at 19 to become President of Tilford Flying Service at Palm Beach International Airport. This was a full service Aviation facility. We had retail, scheduled airline and non scheduled airline refueling for jets and props as well as ground support. We had a flight school, jet charter, aircraft maint. shop in addition. We had 100 employees. I did all the hiring and firing. We were awarded by Professional Pilot Magazines Top Twenty award 13th,9th, 9th,,and 8th the first four years it was awarded. I learned to drive on aircraft refueling trucks at age twelve. On my 16th birthday I flew Solo in Eight different types of airplanes.
