EXPERIENCE:
01/98
- Present As a Programmer Analyst for an
insurance company, worked on the Fund Administration
System, (FAS), and the Complete Life Administrative
Support System, (CLASS). FAS and CLASS are existing
systems that hold the information of life insurance
policies of several clients. Some cases like ALCATEL
are on CLASS, (PC application), while others like
XEROX are on FAS, (CICS). There are over 30 such cases
on both of these systems. The data needs to be
extracted out of these systems and taken to PATTS
which is the next system that is more advanced and
will hold information for all cases. The data will
further access by LINKS, which will be an Internet
application. The current project mainly comprises of
extracting data out of CLASS and FAS and creates data
files in the format as required by PATTS. This project
involved migration of CICS application to client
server. The data will be prepared in format as
required by client server and fed to client server
application. There is some batch programs written that
will take care of this. Involved in writing of these
batch programs as well as analysis of the data that
will go in the client server application. Involved in
data conversion, extracting data from MS EXCEL and
porting it to the mainframe where it was formatted in
correct format as required by PC application by
running through couple of programs and downloaded
data to the PC. Also involved in testing of several
mainframe as well as PC programs.I was also involved in developing
some
screens in ASP and accessed DB2 thru ASP. This project was done for
Prudential
Insurance Company, NJ USA.

-12/99 Completed three web related
projects for Rutgers university. Development of FTP
client, Development of Web Server and Development
Remote Bank Server using JAVA, RMI and HTML
extensively. These projects were submitted to Rutgers
university for evaluation and received A+ grades in
all.

- 01/98 As a programmer for a consulting
firm, responsible for the development and testing of a
credit card system utilizing Cobol II, DB2 and VSAM.
This project involved enhancing the batch applications
to meet additional requirements of First USA to
process its cardholders at cardholder level strategy.
This would allow them to deal with individual
cardholders with an override strategy that may process
a particular account with that strategy(Adding Bonus
at Card holder level).
Developed and enhanced several applications that
processed sequential files and generated reports.
Involved in unit testing and system testing for this
project Mainly used COBTEST to find the exceptional
problems and analyzed dumps to detect executional
problems. This project was done for FDR NE (USA)

FLAT FILES, DB2, IOF, CICS XPEDIATER(CICS) and

- 06/97 As a Programmer Analyst for major
security company, responsible for the analysis,
development and testing of the security settlement
system. This project involves developing new programs
in VS COBOL II and making modifications to the
existing programs in PL/1 so as to take care of the
different balances when the existing System of
Security settlements will move from overnight to
real-time.
Involved in testing these programs before they were
put in to production. These programs involved
functions on VSAM files and DB2 tables. Used IBM
DEBUGGER tool to detect the executional errors. This
project was done for Euroclear Operations Center
(EOC),
Brussels, Belgium.
Environment: MVS, JCL, CICS, DB2, RDMS, VS COBOL II,
PL/1, IBM DEBUGGER, XPEDIATER(CICS) and
XPEDIATER(TSO).
09/96
- 10/96 As a Programmer Analyst for a consulting
company, responsible for the migration of AS/400
software to IBM ES9000 mainframe. A tool was
developed to convert the AS/400 COBOL to ES9000 VS
COBOL II and the on-line programs were then made
pseudo-conversational using the program specific code.
These programs then were volumes tested to verify the
results. The project was done for London Bridge
software company as a offshore development project
from New Delhi office.

06/95
- 07/96 As a Programmer Analyst for a consulting
company, responsible for the development and testing
of the Total Warranty System. Involved in the
development of the system, which dealt with the
business of Fingerhut Corporation of America. The
system involved about 50 on-line programs and 40 batch
programs. The on-line programs were developed using
Telon as code generator and batch programs were
developed as per the skeletons and specifications of
Fingerhut. Involved in the development of on-line
programs. These programs were tested using
EXPEDITER(CICS) . This project was done for FingerHut
(USA) as a offshore development project from RS
development center at Calcutta(India).

IMS, TELON, VSAM, XPEDIATER(CICS) and XPEDIATER(TSO).
03/94
- 05/95 As a Programmer for a consulting
company, involved in design, development testing and
implementation of an Employee Appraisal System to help
management store and access data of appraisal records
of the employees.
The EAPS involved on-line programs that were developed
using CICS, DB2, VSAM and VS COBOL II. The system
also had batch programs that were mainly report
generation programs, which were developed using VSAM,
DB2 and VS COBOL II. The programs were coded and
tested for their functionality.
Involved in the maintenance and problem correction of
IBM ES9000 mainframe. The routine activities involved
in taking the backups and correcting the system
problems. This project was done for RS Software
Calcutta(India).
