Planning Engineer

I have been Involved in all aspects of project planning and controlling of the mechanical

construction of piping and steel structure projects for oil & gas, petrochemical and

fertilizer plants. My role involve extensive use of both technical as well as managerial

skills that include: (1) preparing and monitoring the project master schedule using

scheduling software (2) preparing monthly workload distribution charts for in-house

projects considering all inputs including man-power and material availability (3)

developing daily/weekly work progress reports showing available material status and actual

progress status including graphical management reports (S-curves) for client and

management review (3) monitoring, controlling and reporting the current and forecast

progress and man-hour analysis against the approved contract schedules to enable the

management to ensure that final project turnover dates are within approved contract

schedule (4) allocating the new projects cost centers/control accounts to the concerned

disciplines and estimating the manpower and man-hours of the projects based on standard

productivity and man-hour norms (5) preparing the project budgets and quarterly project

cash flow forecast reports (6) assessing any additional work required and preparing the

project KPIs; distributing project information to stakeholders as per communication plan

(7) and attending weekly and monthly project meetings, taking notes/comments and taking

necessary corrective actions on project and schedule issues.
