Jerry Paxton is a 5th generation Wyomingite. His mother's family came to Wyoming Territory in 1850 and settled at Ft. Bridger. His family has been involved in agriculture since they arrived in Wyoming. He was raised near Manderson Wyoming in the Bighorn Basin. Jerry has lived in Carbon County since he graduated from college in 1971. He was a vocational agriculture teacher for 27 years and a principal for 7 years. After retiring from education in 2005 he ran for Carbon County Commissioner in 2006 and has been serving in that capacity for the past six years. Jerry is currently seeking election to House District 47. The newly redefined district covers most of Carbon County and portions of Sweetwater and Albany Counties. This very large district will present some unique challenges but Jerry believes he can do a good job of representing the interests of the citizens of House District 47.
