2002-2003 Financial Specialist Chemical HQ at Katy, TX

Served as the regional business analyst for the 4 aromatics North America facilities.

Completed a study to develop a methodology to track the Baton Rouge benzene net raw material cost (NRMC) that resolved discrepancies of +/- 1 M$ in the gross margin.

Worked with the aromatics business team to incorporate expected vs. actual variances on NRMC, variable distribution costs and variable operating costs.

Implemented process changes with accounting that reviewed monthly pricing and accruals for the xylenes products. This brought the net realizations on target vs. a 4.3 M$ understatement in 1Q02.

2000-2002 Liquids Planner Baytown Olefins Plant (BOP), Baytown, TX

Completed a screening study to expand the BOP heavy liquid feedstock pool. Gate 1 package developed to examine the economics, process implications and safety issues associated with running sour gas oils through one furnace at the BOP facility. Credits were 4 M$/year and the investment was less than 0.5 M$.

Identified and qualified Chalmette kero as a feed for BOP. Credits were 2 M$/year, no investment was required.

Assisted in the development of a Gate 2 presentation for the BOP cyclics project. Worked with a cross functional team to refine PROVISION simulations and the Class 5 estimate for the project. Individually, developed a preliminary economics and logistics analysis for the project.

SCHERING-PLOUGH CORPORATION (now Merck)

Managed the technical transfer and start-up of two new products in the bulk chemical facility.

Performed long range capacity and facility planning for new and existing products.
