Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat are your greatest strengths?
Well-honed communications skills, both oral and written
The skills I have developed in photography, graphics and basic website design and development
My public speaking and facilitation skills
I am a planner and organizer, deadline driven with good time management skills
What are your greatest weaknesses?
I have difficulty saying "No" when it comes to requests of my own time. Where the need is urgent or the matter is one about which I am passionate, I will take on the challenge, often ignoring the impact on my personal schedule.
I become passionate about causes in which I believe.
Why would you consider leaving your current job?
My position as Marketing Publicist and Webmaster at Lighthouse Festival Theatre was outsourced in February of 2006.
Of what accomplishments are you the proudest and why?
I am extremely proud of my accomplishments at Lighthouse. With minimal resources available and wearing multiple hats, I brought a new level of professional imaging and branding to the theatre in my development and management of an effective publicity and promotional campaign.
Two projects of which I am proud also come immediately to mind: bringing 9-1-1 to Haldimand-Norfolk and facilitating the development of Port Dover's Community Strategic Plan. In both cases, I brought a large group of disparate individuals together as a team, to make a real difference in our community.
I am also proud of my fund-raising efforts for the expansion of Norfolk General Hospital. The service clubs I approached and spoke to pledged a total of $375,000 in donations to the cause.
What are some lessons you have learned along the way to which you would accredit your successes?
To trust my passive thinking as much as my analytical thinking. My analytical thinking solves problems. My passive thinking
results in innovative ideas.
No matter what you think, things can get worse ... deal with it.
To not wish my life away. I have learned to enjoy and to stay focused on today's challenges and to be effective in meeting them.
Tomorrow's excitement and deadlines will be here soon enough.
