Accomplishments

When I was promoted to Branch Manager at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Asko Branch at startup of new

branch, the Bank was expecting from this newly opened branch at the end of the first year a deposit of 70

million.

This Branch was opened with six staffs in the residential area in which most of resident calcified in low

living standard and in which there was no even one customer financially capable; surprisingly the Branch

did not had Generator even if it was mandatory to have it as the electric power in that area was poor it

was on and off now and then.

The first steep was developing team sprit to initiate the employees towards ‘’We Can attitude’’ because

by we have to deal with those problems and meet what was expected from this new branch.

The second steep was to solve the power fluctuation problem by installing electric line from two

different lines our objective was when one line was off the other line will be on automatically using

manual switch; it was helpful in reducing customer dissatisfaction and increase our productivity .

The third steep was to change our strategy in maximizing number of customers instead of focusing on

amounts only, to fulfill this we were working hard on marketing as one person in team; all effort applied

on market assessment which off course the team was considered reducing cost and minimize expenses as

much as possible; we were using our time efficiently to accomplish the branch deposit target.

The result was amazing finally accomplished the branch deposit target by 110 percent at the end of the

year as a result the branch subsidized with additional man power, Generator and other office furniture,

Bones and salary increment for staffs.
