Regional Boiler Reliability Engineer May 2007 to July 2011

Covanta Energy

Responsibilities:

Organized and planned the replacement, repair and maintenance of boiler pressure parts of the seven facilities (21 units) in the Southeast region. Responsible for the design, scheduling, inspection, installation and replacement of all pressure parts within the region. Developed and maintained a five year pressure part budget including scheduling of repairs, replacement and cost estimates. Developed and maintained records regarding all inspection within the units including refractory replacement and repair, pressure part inspections, pressure part repair, pressure part replacement and current condition of each unit within the seven facilities in the region. Collaborated with the facility managers to plan budgets and schedule of outages, issued contractor request for quotation tracked and monitored bids and issued work orders for work requested. Developed various contractors for work within the facilities including NDE, component inspection, safety and site specific training requirements updated and maintained accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, service requests to satisfy inspection and service level standards. Instructed team members regarding equipment parts and components, repair techniques, PM service requirements, and other service requirements monitored the maintenance schedule of plant steam production, ammonia refrigeration system, and the plant compressed air system.

Instructor Trident Training Facility, Kings Bay Naval Base lead instructor for the training of reactor plant welders and NDE personnel. Trained Navy personnel in the maintenance, repair and inspection of ship board systems regarding the propulsion plant, piping and turbine(s). Lead instructor for the Naval Fire Fighting Facility training personnel in basic and advanced firefighting techniques involving fires associated with the vessels propulsion plant.

USS Frank Cable - Manage and maintain ship board systems directly involved or associated with the population system(s) of the vessel. Managed, maintained and trained ship board welders in the techniques required to maintain the safe operation of the ship. Planned and managed repair cycles (outages) regarding the repair of the eight (8) nuclear submarines as well as the repair ship assigned. Managed and performed NDE inspections and personnel associated with the ship outages.

Naval Submarine Base Groton Connecticut - Planned and managed repair cycles (outages) regarding the repair of the fifteen (15) nuclear submarines assigned, managed and performed NDE inspections and personnel associated with ship (submarine) outages. Maintained all records associated with NDE personnel qualification. Developed, managed and maintained detailed records associated with outages performed.

USS Fulton " NDE inspector responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection of ship board systems. Also assigned to provide nuclear propulsion plant inspections of the five (5) submarines attached to the command. Maintained welder qualification records reviewed controlled work packages associated with propulsion plant repairs insuring compliance with standards related to the repair and operation of the facility.

USS Pensacola " Managed and performed repairs to ship board system performed maintenance on piping, pluming, propulsion, firefighting, refrigeration and ship hull insuring safe and reliable operation of equipment. Served as ships fire marshal (fire chief) responsible for the safe operation of hot work operation also responsible for the training of the ships firefighters.

USS L.Y. Spear " Performed repairs to submarines hull and propulsion systems. Certified welder responsible for welding high pressure piping systems during outages performed routine maintenance and repair of equipment served as a firefighter abroad ship while in port and at sea.
