* Responsible for 'Project Sunrise', a major corporate initiative that was targeted at
insourcing and replacing all EDS outsourced computing systems, infrastructure, personnel,
and applications. Successfully led this project and numerous other corporate initiatives.
* Budgeted, planned, and led three data center migrations to new facilities. DBMS
deployment and performance tuning effort for high profile Life New Business (LNB) client
server application. EDS Equity Plus application migration (from EDS Plano, Texas server to
a JNL Lansing, Michigan server) project, saving JNL $3.5 million in 2001. Partitioning of
the JAMMS-2 marketing application, Lawson accounting general ledger, Actuate web report
system, and Siebel CRM DBMS applications across multiple Unix servers.
* Installed, configured and institutionalized information technology standards,
guidelines, policies, and procedures with regard to the utilization and exploitation of
AIX, Solaris, ColdFusion, Apache, WebSphere, TCP/IP, C, C++, FileNET imaging and workflow,
Oracle, Sybase, DB2, UDB, ADSM/TSM, OS/390, CICS, MQ, Snap/Shot, SMS, and other system
software packages.
* Scaled the hardware environment to an integrated complex of 19 Unix servers and two
S/390 mainframes connected to a total of 8.5TB of disk storage.
* Responsible for building end-user systems, programming and model office testing
environments, and development of tool suites that aided in the insourcing effort and day-
to-day operation of a tightly-coupled, multi-platform computing complex.
