PROJECTS

Graduate:

Latency Reduction for Gesture Recognition using Microsoft Kinect sensor.

Developed a logistic regression learning mechanism using Matlab and C aimed at improving gaming experience

with Microsoft Kinect by reducing latency in recognizing gestures based on skeletal representation of body poses.

Action Localization and Recognition.

Implemented a soft-max probabilistic method followed by SVM classification using Matlab and C for automatically

determining the location of the action in a given video sequence and recognizing the action with high accuracy.

Action Recognition in Complex Environments.

Analyzed and suggested improvements using Matlab for recognizing actions performed in complex backgrounds.

Detecting Shadows in Monochromatic Images.

Proposed and implemented a CRF learning framework using Matlab for detecting shadows in monochromatic

images using both shadow variant and invariant cues.

Pixel Saturation Removal in Images.

Developed a MRF model using Matlab for estimating correct responses of over-exposed saturated pixels in an image

using color channel ratios and responses of unsaturated neighboring pixels.

Recognizing People using Social Networks.

Proposed and implemented a learning framework using Matlab and C to highlight the importance social network

information for recognizing people in photographs.

Content Based Copy Detection.

Developed an algorithm in OpenCV for detecting picture-in-picture video content for the TRECVID 2008 challenge.

Undergraduate:

Face Expression Changer:

Created tool using C/C++ and Matlab for changing facial expression in images and videos

Smashback Game

A single player game developed in OpenGL, similar to the on-line game: http://www.smashback.com

Car Rental System

Developed a Java based system for on-line scheduling and booking of vehicles.

Automated Adaptive Testing

Created an automated testing application in Java, similar to Educational Testing Service (ETS) for GRE.

Hospital Management System

Developed a system in Java for scheduling doctor/nurse duties, maintain patient histories records and manage

inventory stock of hospital pharmacy.
