Load Rating of
Highway Bridges
1995 - 2000
University of Cincinnati Cincinnati, OH
Research Assistant
/ Teaching Assistant
Computer modeling,
DL/LL/Moving Load analysis, and load rating of a 1200ft steel truss
bridge spanning over Ohio River between Ironton and Huntington. Took
active part in instrumentation, field-testing and instrumented monitoring
data interpretation.
3D-FEM and 2D-Grid
modeling of 6 steel stringer bridges in Ohio as a part of Ohio-DOT
sponsored project for the development of a modeling+ calibration + rating
computer software.
3D-FE modeling of
1600 feet prestressed concrete, curved box-girder bridge for Strain
Monitor Systems Inc. as part of a project for Georgia-DOT to determine
the optimum locations for experimental instrumentation following a recent
retrofit project.
Modeled and
analyzed three steel stringer bridges in Toledo, Ohio for Ohio-DOT
sponsored project to predict safety and stress levels during passage of
an 865 kip overload. Pre-, during and Post-tests, and damage detection.
Developed UILD method to confidently predict the stress levels using
experimental test truckload data.
Modeled and
analyzed Seymour Steel Stringer Bridge in Cincinnati, Ohio for
corroboration with damage detection research. Wrote a computer program to
calibrate the computer models using MAC, modal frequencies, modal
flexibility and static truckload test results. Supplied continuous
analytical support to the team.
Built the Local
Area Network of University of Cincinnati Infrastructure Institute Lab
located at ERC 717; administrator.
Gave lectures and
graded class material for undergraduate and graduate level structural
analysis, and finite element analysis courses.
MS: Stress and
Damage Prediction of Steel Stringer Bridges Using Finite Element
Techniques and Unit Influence Line Decomposition Method .

Part time worked in
the 3D-FE modeling and analysis of Paul Brown Stadium footing pile and
pile cap design, tie columns.
1994-1995 MNG
G nal Const. Comp. Ankara, TURKEY
Project Engineer
Worked as a Project
Engineer in the project management and scheduling of a 37-story main building
and five additional blocks construction project.
Scheduled resources
using critical path method (CPM) and carried out cost analyses. Reporting
to the controller and project manager directly. Unit prices.
1993-1994 G rol
