The application of case-based reasoning to case management practice with the homeless

mentally ill, Graduate School, Salem State University, 2004 ($2,500).

The impact of a Medicaid managed care plan on patterns of psychiatric hospitalization: A

longitudinal study, Academic Affairs, Salem State University, 2001 ($10,250).

Evaluation of Adoption Crossroads, a statewide program of post-adoption services,

funded for five years (abt. $75,000 per year, for each of 5 years) by the

Massachusetts Department of Social Services, through the New Bedford Child and

Family Services,1997. My role was that of Principal Investigator.

The Impact of Managed Care on Patterns of Acute Psychiatric Hospitalization, $2,500,

from Academic Affairs, Salem State University, 1997-1998. Funding for this was

extended to include an additional year s worth of data; provided by the below listed

grant.

"A developmental outcome evaluation of the Massachusetts Mental Health / Substance

Abuse Program," John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University,

submitted to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 7/1/96 (Partially funded for

$250,000 by the Division of Medical Assistance and Department of Mental Health,

contingent on approval by RWJF for additional $500,000. Wrote initial proposal;

listed as co-investigator, with Drs. Robert Dorwart and others). Eventually funded

as a pilot case study 9/97; my role was as consultant.

Evaluation of: "Kidnet: A Collaborative Family Support Model." This is a contract for a

three year evaluation of a project involving the development of a comprehensive

school-agency social service system and a high school mentoring program in the 10

schools of the Salem, MA, public school system, funded the U.S. Department of

Education ($128,000 for evaluative component). My role involved both obtaining

the contract and as the Principal Investigator. Awarded February, 1994.

"Intensive case management with the homeless mentally ill," [A proposal was submitted

February 1992 to the National Institute for Mental Health, for $454,000

($309,000 direct costs); Approved, but not funded.]

"A local authority/case management model of community mental health Services. "Under

auspices of the Oak Park community Mental Health Board, a research and

development proposal I wrote received funding for $209,590, from The Chicago

Community Trust Foundation (awarded Fall, '87).

"The impact of a block grant on decision making in state departments of mental

health,"This study was funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Mental

Health and Developmental Disabilities ($5,000).
