Technology, Statistics, Analysis, Project Management:
The District of Squamish now has numerous hosting, security, monitoring and even digital si gnage solutions built
around Linux Apache, MySql, Php and a host of other open-source technologies. All of these solutions were
thoroughly researched, evaluated, proposed and implemented by Johnny with a remarkable attention to detail,
and commitment to the best interests of the District of Squamish. Johnny continues to make himself available to
the District by ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of this Linux systems on a regular basis, and at all
hours including emergency situations.
(District of Squamish)
We have no hesitation in recommending Johnny for any technical or management position requiring a high -level
of Linux and open-source knowledge. His personal attention to details and efforts to ensure that all technical and
business solutions are thoroughly backed up by evidence, has been highly valued by all of our technical staff .
(District of Squamish)
Johnny has a friendly and professional manner and is an effective communicator. I have no hesitation
recommending Johnny Stork for a technical or management position that requires a wide range of experience in
designing and implementing Open Source or Windows solutions for businesses.
(Hatfield Consultants)
The changes implemented by Mr. Stork, laid the foundation for various Technolo gy Standards approved by the
Ministry of Health, which included XML, Web Services and HL7. Mr. Stork recommended and implemented the
majority of these solutions utilizing numerous open-source and Linux based solutions which would have cost tens
of thousands of dollars had they been implemented with proprietary solutions. The combination of these open -
source technologies, along with a Java/Linux based Application Server and new Oracle 10g instance also running
on Linux have provided significant improvements in stability, security, performance and extensibility to the
operation of the PBCO.
(PBCO)
While managing and implementing these numerous technology changes, Mr. Stork continued to provide research
design, data analysis and database reporting services to the PBCO. Mr. Stork s comprehensive knowledge and
background in research, statistics and data analysis were invaluable to the planning and implementation of
numerous data related analysis projects.
(PBCO)
The office now has systems in place which prov ides dramatically improved efficiency and ease of use for the
staff. Key security safeguards are now in place and extensibility has been built into all systems. Significant cost
savings and improved operations are being realized with the changes that Johnn y has made.
(PBCO)
Mr. Stork s command of contemporary computer networking and statistical software and analysis coupled with
his creativity and insight in research design and implementation makes him an excellent choice for employment in
this area.
(UNBC)
Because he had meticulously designed the data acquisition system himself, very few technical problems were
encounter during the course of the two year project.
(UNBC)
His level of knowledge in the field of statistics, as well as his skills at communicating complex concepts and
methods in this field, was appreciated by all graduate students who worked with him.
(UNBC)
His organizational skills are, in my opinion, impeccable, allowing him to meet his deadlines without sacrificing the
quality of the work.
(UNBC)
Johnny has been the single most helpful consultant I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
(Ministry of Forests)
What stands out even more than his statistical expertise, is his ability to do all the other things extremely well.
Things like excellent communication skills, great organization, completing of work in a timely manner, accuracy of
work, attention to detail, problem solving
(Ministry of Forests)
John s work is professional and is always delivere d in a timely manner.
(Ministry of Forests)
We found him to be both extremely competent and consistently reliable in his position as an expert statistical
consultant. His hard work ethic, together with his efficiency and high quality of work makes him a valuable asset.
(Madrone Consultants)
I have always found John to be very thorough in his analysis. He performs the assigned analysis very quickly,
and is always extremely thorough in his report write-ups.
(Ministry of Forests)
He always gives more than he is asked and is willing to go to any extent to assist and/or to find the
answer/solution.
(UNBC)
John has worked in our lab in several capacities as a research assistant. In all of these associations I have
developed a very high regard for John s academic ability, motivation, and strength of character. His high grades
speak for themselves, but they cannot indicate his dependability, friendly demeanor, and genuine caring for
others.
(SFU)
Having observed John advising fellow stud ents on hardware problems, statistical matters, and experimental
design, I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him
(SFU)
John Stork is someone with the intellectual, technical, and personal skills necessary to serve you very well . H e
has a wealth of academic knowledge and relevant practical experience that made him a valued member of our lab
team and would seem to make him an ideal candidate for any position requiring a mix of academic, technical, and
interpersonal ability. I am pleased to recommend John without reservation.
(SFU)
I have found him not only to be honest and fair in his dealings, but, of the people I have met outside a philosophy
department, one of the most concerned about doing the right thing for the right reaso ns.
(Langara College)
Database and Crystal Reports Development:
"His excellent work ethic, strong technical skills, and his attention to detail made Johnny an asset for the two
months that he was a contractor at Tesco Corporation"
(Tesco Corporation)
Johnny, even in an unfamiliar development environment, was able to take any task that he was given and to
complete it in a timely manner with professional results and excellent documentation
(Tesco Corporation)
Johnny has a significant technical skill set, works constantly outside of the workplace to stay current and
investigates new technological opportunities
