Cable Splicing Technician

Job responsibilities include: Line work-place cables (copper/fiber) in either an underground conduit or manholes, or lash to existing aerial plant.

Compliance Inspector - Assist, instruct, and supervise contractors during underground placement.

Assist contr actors with permit and/or construction issues.

Assist Engineering Group with plant issues.

Read and interpret engineering plans, vendor specifications for the installation and repair of optic and electronic equipment.

Make necessary preparations required for splicing, arrangement, and termination of cables (copper/fiber).

Perform splicing operations in connection with the installation, rearrangement, and repair of outside plant facilities.

This includes copper/fiber cables, wire, t erminals, loop carrier electronics, and light guide facilities.
