Advanced knowledge and application expertise of microparticle, dual polymer, wet end starch, deposit control, and other retention/ drainage systems (RDD) on Pulp and Paper Machines (PM). Vast knowledge of Deposit Control and retention and drainage products used in the pulp and paper industry, including the new nano-silica sol wet end technology.

* Extensive Deposit Control mill application and mill laboratory evaluation studies completed.

* Completed numerous audits at Coated and Uncoated Fine Paper mill sites to determine optimal chemical program and dosage prior to implement the findings at the mill customer`s site to ensure there is no negative impact on wet end to ensure optimization of the PM performance.

* Led the project that utilized R&D knowledge to bring the several new deposit control polymer products in the company global product line. Worked and communicated with the field sales organization globally to launch and target key target mills that brought the company to the forefront in deposit control treatment capability and sales. Deposit Control polymer sales in North America increased from $15K per month to more than $350K per month in the first year.

* Developed novel Deposit Control microscopy and Image Analysis techniques for wood pitch and Coated Broke evaluation that had help significantly improve chemical sales at customer mills.

* Extensive Deposit Control and retention and drainage evaluations on different paper furnishes, from copy paper, coated paper, Mechanical, LWC, newsprint, SBS, white top liner board to unbleached Kraft corrugating furnishes at mill sites all over North America and some sites in South America.

* Extensive work on finding the best-wet end chemistry programs at mills for FDA food contact paper or board products. Constantly evaluating new FDA approved starches and polymer products. .

* Helped numerous mills to determine the best-wet end chemicals to enhance dye retention for vibrant colored papers from copy to construction paper grades. Certain products enhanced vibrant dye retention but care was needed to balance and maintain the wet end program performance.

* Worked with the sales force to educate and present the results of the Deposit Control study to the mill customer on the issues they are having with wood pitch or Coated Broke on their process.

* Educated sales representatives on Deposit Control chemistry, laboratory mill studies, and microscopy techniques to do extensive mill wood pitch or Coated Broke audits.

* Conceived new test procedures that were needed to validate the enhanced capability of the new deposit control chemistry product performance and retention and drainage chemistries

* Developed numerous pitch microscopy technique test evaluations in the lab and mill field-testing.

* Developed quantitative white pitch image analysis particle count and size distribution test technique.

* Communicate with the customer to understand their existing and new grade development projects and paper quality issues and focus on their specific needs and target requirements.

* Conducted mill audits prior to mill trials, during and after the trial by recording PM First Pass retention, ash retention, PM speed, wet end chemistry usage, microscopy work, ensure the wet end chemical additives meet quality specifications for trial work, and meet customer specifications, etc.
