Centrl is a
location-based social network with 650,000 users on the iPhone, Android,
BlackBerry, Symbian and web (Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, Hi5, Friendster, Bebo and Ning). Designed and developed the prototype. Raised
funding. Lead the company as the CEO through design, development and release of
all products, as well as business development, marketing, PR and hiring. Signed
partnerships with Navteq, Citysearch,
Valassis, 8coupons, Yahoo, Qype,
11870, Microsoft, etc. and lead the sale of the company in 2010.
February 1999 present Holoscape Inc. http://holoscape.com New York, NY - Founder.
The company
provides advanced-technology consulting on software projects including
analysis, design, architecture, implementation including software process
implementation. Also served on the Technical Review Board between
1999-2000. Duties included recommending and reviewing technical direction for

May 2008 CoolIrisInc. Architected and implemented the 3D PicLens
plugin for the Kleiner-Perkins
funded startup in Palo Alto, California. Work included 3D and video-decoding
components that run inside Firefox and other browsers as a native plugin.

2006-October 2007 BloombergLP.
Team lead for the Supergraph project. Bloomberg LP
provides financial data and analysis tools for professionals. I have
re-architected the Bloomberg terminal to display graphics using GDIplus, OpenGL and/or DirectX, for improved performance
and also additional features such as gradients, multiple overlays, antialiasing etc. The project has been released and has
already increased terminal sales for the company. I lead a team of 5 people
that had no previous computer graphics experience.
2005 - 2006 ManyoneNetworks Inc: Initiated,
architected, designed and started implementation of . is an open-source 3D runtime and
authoring system for advanced web-based multimedia applications. runs on MS
Windows, MacOS and Linux. It supports OpenGL and
DirectX. It is built upon the Lua scripting engine,
the Ogre3D rendering engine, wxWidgets, SDL and Antigrain 2D rendering library. Please visit emma3d.org for

2003 - 2005 ( Tokyo, Japan ): Architected,
designed and implemented a 3D toolkit and a Flash SWF player for MS Windows,
Linux, PS2, PSP and some Linux-based embedded platforms for Digital TV's,
digital cameras, PDA's, Car navigation systems, etc.
2003 AtairInc.: Architected,
designed and implemented the MS Windows program for 3D simulation and real-time
control of the guided canopy system of the company.
2003 PlaxoInc.: Architected, designed and
implemented the MS Windows Outlook Express component of the company's contact
information management suite.
2000-2003 . (San Jose, CA Research
Center) Participated in the design and implementation of a real-time 3D
media-oriented runtime engine Blendo for the internet
that runs on Windows, Linux, Playstation 2 and
various set top boxes. Worked on various components of the engine, from the activex control that works inside Internet Explorer and
other activex containers to overall media
infrastructure and system performance tuning optimizations on all platforms.
Last project: implemented mpeg2 and mpeg4 system, video and audio decoders on
Windows, Linux and the Playstation2 platforms and integrated these into the
general 3D scene-graph rendering process by optimizations specific to each
platform.
2000 Net Technologies:
Architected, designed and implemented the MS Windows Encoder Service for the
company's DoTell internet application using C++, UML,
COM, OLE.
1999-2000 Sonicbox:
Architected, designed and implemented the Sonicbox
internet tuner using C++, UML, COM, MFC, and media streaming APIs. Helped in
the formation of the company's software development team and software process.
1999 TheNextWebInc.(self-funded
project): Started TheNextWeb Inc. a technology
company that successfully produced working models of a next version of the
internet where the netizens were immersed in a 3D
environment, being able to experience traditional and innovative 3D internet
content together while having the chance to interact with each other. TheNextWeb Inc. had been a pioneer at the time in terms of
creating new paradigms for networked interactive experiences.
1999 AT&T: Consulted on the high-level architecture of a 3D internet client/server
application using Java, UML, JNI, C++.
1999 Improv
Technologies: Architected, designed and implemented the
Orchestrate3D 3D authoring system using C++, Java, UML, COM, OLE, MFC and
Windows APIs. Hired the engineering team and implemented the software
engineering process for the company.
1998 Web3D
consortium - X3D Core Design Team member
Chosen by the
Web3D consortium to lead the design of X3D, the next generation of VRML. Technical
Review Board member, Web3D consortium Duties include recommending and reviewing
technical direction for the Web3d consortium and also represent Platinum
Technology in the consortium.
August 1996 - Feb 1999 Cosmo Software Mountain View, CA - Senior Software Architect and Technical Lead
Cosmo Player
group. Duties included overseeing the evolution of Cosmo Player into an X3D
player and making it more useful to programmers through new APIs and features.
Worked on the conception, design, and development of Cosmo Player which is the
definitive, leading VRML browser. Designed and implemented the cross-platform,
cross-browser Cosmo Player 2.0 using object-oriented methodologies and Visual
C++, Java, ActiveX controls, Dual COM interfaces, Netscape Plugins
API, Multi-thread Synchronization and OpenGL on Windows 95, 98, Windows NT.
Designed and implemented the ActiveX control version of Cosmo Player 2.0 using
ATL. Implemented Java API support (EAI: External Authoring Interface and JSAI:
Java Script Authoring Interface) for Cosmo Player using JRI (Netscape), RNI
(Microsoft), Java and Live-Connect. Designed and implemented a custom COM
interface for EAI (COM EAI) which is used by many companies to integrate Cosmo
Player into their systems.
