Assessment, Risk Reduction, as well as the development of Personnel which support those

Infrastructures for Corporations on a Global basis.

We develop solutions for Small to Global businesses to eliminate Spam, Protect them from

hackers, and provide secure web hosting.

We are also known for our Security Solutions which protect Utilities from Inside and Outside

threats. We promote the use of a multi-layered defense, open source solutions, as well as best

in breed Enterprise Management solutions to provide a robust and durable solution to our

customers.

We use many Open Source Projects for the proliferation of security. Including the Bastille

Firewall Project and the PSAD (Port Sacnning attack detection) projects. Included in

ourdeployment of security is the Spam Zapper Filtering environment for Business and

Internet Use (http://www.No-JunkMail.com &http://www.Spam-Zapper.com ). I originally

developed the use of IDS and Proactive Security Tools to mitigate risk in corporate

environments.

Implemented both Network and Server based Security Tools for both detection and protection.

Transformed traditional networking protocols to more secure SSH Based protocols. It has

become a well known fact that clear text protocols are insecure by design.

Worked with the Pittsburgh FBI in the development of a Brochure on HOW TO Protect

yourself from SPAM. While only recently developed, even these Best Practices have evolved

to require that companies utilize a Security in Depth Approach to Email.

Created redundancy for the E-Mail, Radius Authentication, DNS, DHCP and other features

required to operate the Internet Service. Developed new Billing applications for Informix

Dynamic 4GL, C-ISAM and ESQL/C Tools for Linux, using the DBA experience on Informix

products for better operations. Migrated data from the Informix 2.0 database to the 7.24

database engine. Developed Client Server based applications, and customized interfaces to

Informix databases with InfoFlex, MySQL, TomCat and PowerBuilder tools.

Developed the ITO Architecture for a Nationwide Telecommunications NOC, utilizing my ITO

version 3.x, 4.x and 5.x experience. Established HP OpenView, NNM 6.X to support the

Network Monitoring on the Nationwide Call Center. Established and integrated SNMP

communications with BEA Tuxedo. Implemented customized message filtering for internal

messages. Developed customized reporting scripts to identify problematic areas of servers

and report their information to the centralized message center (or NOC). Developed new

Tools to support the ITO Architecture on a Multi-Vendor Client basis for Process reporting,

Dynamic Filesystem reporting, and customized E-Mail interaction.

Supported the HP IT Resource Center Forums, and became the leading non-HP support

person (http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/Home/1,1149,,00.html registered ID # CA479450) for

HP Networking & OpenView problem resolution.

Implemented the MySql Database environment for PHP communications with Apache and

database oriented web sites. Acquired, Installed and integrated Oracle for Linux for software

Development and Application Migration from IBM AIX and other Unix based Operating

Systems. Implemented NIDS systems (IP based and Stealth solutions) for Passive and Active

Security Roles.

Co-Founder of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the InfraGard by working on the First Board of

Directors, and serving as the Chapter s President. More information about the InfraGard

may be obtained at Pittsburgh InfraGard. ABS Computer Technology has remained a Vital

Contributor to the Pittsburgh Chapter.

Worked with the Bastille and PSAD projects in implementing Internet and Inter-Network

security for many companies. Bastille was utilized in implementing hardened environments

for Unix based Servers. Adapted the use of Bastille and PSAD for the development of IPS for

customers of ABS Computer Technology, Inc. Supported the development of Bastille for Unix

and Linux. Made recommendations for additional Hardening, improvements for portability,

and optional modules for better Firewalling.

Received the US Patent and Trademark registration for the SpamZapper also in use at No-

JunkMail.com and SpamZapper.us. Additionally, the trademarks ActiveDefense,

ServerSafe, and CleanContent . These tools improve the security of businesses

internationally.

Developed a Partnership with RedHat and Mandriva to support the Linux Sales and Services

requested by our customers.

Provided Infrastructure and Organizational support and decisions for the company, while

guiding it to a stable and reliable environment. Assisted in the review of the ITSM and

Senior Systems Consultant, Corporate Computer Systems Division

Created, designed and implemented the corporate wide Domain Name System (DNS) facility

for use on HP-UX, IBM AIX, Sequent Dynix/ptx, Novell and Windows NT systems. Introduced

the ability for Unix Computer Systems to deliver E-Mail to the Corporate Desktop

Environment. Evaluated several backup packages for use on HP-UX and IBM AIX platforms,

for the Backup QAT. Supported the Unix Security & QAT teams to recommend and evaluate

several Unix & Network based security tools. Provided training in DNS & TCP/IP

communications. Worked closely with customers in resolving day to day problems in

Unix/Networking Environments. Responsible for the installation, support, and maintenance of

HP OpenView Application Software as well as the Operating Systems which support them.

Worked with the Technical support teams of the manufacturers to identify and resolve

problems. Supported the Internet Support Teams to facilitate and resolve technical issues.

Performed daily Unix Systems Administration and provided support and problem resolution

for the Unix Support Hotline.

Implemented and Evaluated HP s IT/A (IT Administration) software for support of the Global

multi-vendor network.

Implemented customized reporting capabilities with the MeasureWare and PerfView tools,

components of the HP OpenView application suite.

CTG, Metals Center - Pittsburgh, PA May `95 - Sept '95

Senior Systems Engineer

Provided technical support for the HP-UX 9.04 operating system for the development of client

server applications with the Oracle database. Ensured that the computer system was

operational and resolved problems with the operating system with patches from the HP

Internet FTP site, as required. Converted 3 background processes from the DEC VAX/Sybase

environment into Unix Daemons for use with the HP-UX/Oracle environment.

Supported the client application development team with PowerBuilder support, Novell

networking support and the use of ANSI SQL with Oracle. Made extensive use of the Internet

to both provide technical support, current information and retrieve patches for all of the

applications under development.

Thrift Drug Co. - Pittsburgh, PA May `94 - May '95

Senior Systems and Database Consultant

Performed the lead role for the Informix OnLine DBA as well as assisting in the configuration

of the Development and large scale Production computer systems. Developed programs to

support and administer the Databases in Kansas City and Pittsburgh using C and shell

programming languages for the Sun Unix environments. Each of these platforms made

extensive use of both Unix and Client/Server technologies.

Developed the database access standards for the re-engineering of existing applications and

all future development efforts. Instructed in-house staff and consultants in effectively utilizing

the database engine. Personally re-engineered the worst behaved applications using the in-

house standards. Assisted the developers in understanding and utilizing the proper checking

of SQL status codes and the implementation of various database-locking methods.

Introduced Internet access to the Database and Tech Support departments for the delivery of

more timely information over traditional in-house methods. This access was also used for the

immediate delivery of problems to the vendors Technical Support departments. The

Administration was also interested in using the Internet for informational and business

opportunities.

Senior Systems Engineer

Developed the key technical issues which redirected the development of the Order

Management & Lead tracking system from a character based system to the GUI based SQL

Windows package from Gupta and DBA responsibilities for the Informix On-Line database

system. Responsible for the operation of the entire Production, Development, and Test PC

Networks. These systems were deployed on Sun hardware using the Solaris operating system.

Designed the new Fiber Optic & Computer system network for the new pharmacy fulfillment

center utilizing Level 5 AT&T cabling. Supervised the new MIS - Technical Services Group

which supported the Telephone & Voice communication system, PC systems and Unix based

applications.

Systems Consultant - Unix OLTP Team

As a systems consultant for ALCOA I was responsible for the Installation of all Unix based

computer systems in the Corporate Data Center. In the first 5 months I was instrumental in

the configuration, installation and development of over eight HP 9000 Unix systems for use

with the Oracle version 7 and Oracle Financial Packages. These systems are being installed,

utilized and managed for the deployment of the new Shared Ledger & CFD accounting

systems for all of Alcoa's subsidiaries worldwide.

Senior Systems Engineer, President

Whale Information Technologies (WIT) was a Pittsburgh based Computer Hardware and

Software Design and Consulting firm. As the Manager of the Engineering staff I was

responsible for assessing the technical capabilities of the engineers and the progress made in

their assignments, while reviewing new and existing products. My other responsibilities the

development of proposals and contracts, and managing multiple customer projects and

deadlines. WIT also provided its customers with 24 hour a day, 7 day a week support.

Our proprietary software packages included:

The ABI-Tele Software Billing System - The first Unix based billing system for telephone

companies. The ABI-Tele system was also the first 'flexible' billing system developed to allow

the existing in-house staff to modify the billing information without programming changes.

LAS - Lab Analysis Software - Developed for the historical storage and trending of analysis

results from customers' used oil samples. This is the first package that uses graphics to

display analysis data on sample reports.

Hazardous Waste Tracking System - Developed for the hazardous waste industry to track the

inventories and transportation of hazardous wastes. The system takes care of quotation,

inventory, invoicing, manifest reports and EPA reporting.

Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer I developed several computer systems that improved and automated the

company's daily operations in the plant. The following was the first project that I developed

and installed.

Automated Inspection system - This system was developed using real-time vision, robotics and

lasers to inspect steel as it was being processed. The system detected holes and found the

optimum length to cut the steel coils. The first system installed saved the company over $2

million per year.

My expertise in computer systems and technical skills also were used to assist other engineers

in the completion of various other projects, including the development of a Real-time

tensioning and control system for a Multi-stand rolling mill, and the development of the

company's first redundant ETHERNET based computer system for analysis of sample

information, to name a few.

was taken to various trade shows across the country. All of the work completed on this project

was performed while my project leader was in Europe for his summer vacation. Using my
