Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to work in the NICU, however for now my goal is to obtain a med-surg position since that is where the majority of my clinical experience is. Im not sure if I should delete my previous work experience since it is not health care related? Any info please! Thanks in advance!

Dear Director of Nursing Recruitment,

I am interested in applying for a full-time staff nurse position on a medical-surgical unit at Medical Center. As stated in my resume, I have graduated Cum Laude from the University of Nursing's College of Nursing with a Bachelor s of Science in Nursing. I currently hold an active RN license for the state of .

As shown in my resume, I have had several opportunities to complete clinical rotations on medical-surgical floors such as cardiology and telemetry, orthopedics, and general surgery. These experiences have enabled me to develop strong technical skills necessary to succeed as a graduate nurse. I have also recently completed ECG certification, with the plans to pursue obtaining ACLS and NRP certification. In addition to technical skills, I have also had the opportunity to develop excellent leadership skills. In collaboration with the Home for Boys and Girls, I implemented a Healthy Hygiene intervention for adolescent boys. Through this intervention I improved the hygiene practices of 100% of participants. I firmly believe Medical Center will be the best institution for me to begin, as well as advance my career in nursing. My academic excellence at Nursing University has strongly prepared me to begin employment as a graduate nurse.

Thank you in advance for giving my enclosed resume careful consideration. I am very interested in beginning my nursing career at Medical Center. I can be reached via email at abpl6d@r.postjobfree.com, or by phone 555-***-****. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Susie Q. Nurse
