EXPERIENCE:
United States Army - Logistics Manager (8/95 to 3/99): Responsible for assisting units in the planning, staging and preparation of equipment to conduct worldwide movement of cargo by surface or air
* Provide assistance to the Division/Installation Logistics Officer`s, Brigade level Logistics & Movement Officers, Unit Movement Coordinator`s, and operating units to ensure accurate and timely fleet readiness reports. Result: Maintain 3rd Brigade Combat Team fleet of equipment while ensuring operational readiness is never compromised keeping the team deployable 100% of the time.
United States Army - Commander M1A1 & M1A2 Abrams Tank (3/99 to 6/02): Responsible for the maintenance, accountability and tactical employment of four M1A2 main battle tanks and all associated equipment valued in excess of 20 million dollars as well as the operations and administrative departments for a platoon consisting of 16 personnel. Awarded 3 Army Commendation Medals.
* Unspecified reasons lead to me having to take over as Platoon Sergeant during Operation Endearing Freedom. Result: Deployed and Redeployed entire platoon safely without any wounded or killed in action. Awarded Leadership of the Year 2002.
* Alcohol and Drug Coordinator for the Company. Result: Through awareness, training and deterrence the Company had zero positive tests for illegal drugs.
* Selected and sent to school to be trained on the Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials Course. Result: Developed a train the trainer program which allowed for 100% of Company`s vehicles and equipment passing inspection prior to being transported by land, sea or air.
United States Army - Recruiter (06/02 to 08/04): Responsible for accomplishment of Department of the Army assigned quantitative enlistment objectives; conducted daily telephone and area prospecting to include face to face interviews; tasked with meeting daily, weekly and monthly prospecting requirements; responsible for establishing and maintaining close coordination with high school, colleges and community officials to implement and conduct a variety of Army recruiting awareness programs.
* Contract two individuals for Army Enlistment each month with one of those two scoring above average on entrance exam. Result: Recognized as the Top Recruiter for Fiscal Year 2003 & 2004 in the U.S. by achieving over 140 enlistments and over 100 scoring above average; typically enlistments during like time period would be 24. Was also recognized by receiving the Army Chief of Staff for Recruiting Excellence both years and was awarded this by the Chief and the Secretary of the Army in person at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
United States Army - Recruiting Center Manager 08/04 to 08/08: Responsible for the direct supervision of recruiters using the Recruiting Center Production Management Systems; ensures that recruiters are continuously trained, knowledgeable of options and enlistment programs for the Army and Army Reserve; reviews all enlistment applications and requests for waivers to ensure completeness.
* The Center Commander is responsible for everything that happens and fails to happen within the Center. There is probably not another organization that changes as much and as fast as Recruiting for the Army. It takes a special Leader to be innovative and charismatic to not only keep the team trained and proficient but also maintaining high morale and good attitudes within the work place. Having a never quit attitude and truly believing that success can be had in any market at anytime allowed for me to manage 3 different Recruiting Centers during this period of time. West Bend, WI, Milwaukee, WI and Austin, TX (at the University of Texas in Austin). Result: Recognized as Non-Commissioned Officer (Leader) of the Year 2005 (Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion), Center Commander of the Year 2006 (Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion), Center Commander of the Year 2007 (Austin, TX at the University of Texas in Austin). The ability to assume responsibility of failing offices and turning them around is why I was in those centers during that time. It also was a key factor in being promoted to serve as a Trainer prior to taking over my own Company.
United State Army - Recruiting Company First Sergeant (Manager) (08/08 to 11/12): Responsible for assisting the commander in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities that support the company mission; responsible for the health, welfare, morale and training 7 Center Managers and 71 Recruiters in a company dispersed over 22,000 square miles; sets and enforces high standards of conduct, training, professional development, and operations; plans and executes a extremely focused Professional Development Program; promotes community understanding and support for the Army and it`s recruiting goals; responsible for overseeing the prospecting, processing, and sustainment of applicants entering the US Army and US Army Reserves.
* By bringing a positive, fun and family focused environment the Company had immediate impact. Result: In merely 9 months the Company contracted more total volume and total quality enlistments than the entire previous year prior to my arrival. Recognized as Most Improved Company and First Sergeant (Company Manager) of the Year, Denver, CO Fiscal Year 2009.
* Developed and Implemented a Learning Management System used to conduct training remotely. Result: Saved not only the unit but the Army as whole millions of dollars by being able to conduct training via VCS rather than continuously sending people off to resident schools.
* Selected over peers with more experience to take over the largest Recruiting Company in the U.S. Result: Company still taking well over 50% of competitive market.
