MILITARY SERVICE

I joined the Army National Guard in April, 2011. Since then I have completed Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Officer Candidate School (OCS). After successfully completing OCS, I was commissioned in Indiana- and federally recognized- as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. This is the defining achievement of my professional career.

Experience

July 2002 to Current

Chick-fil-A at Glenbrook Square Fort Wayne, IN

Kitchen Director

My position has evolved over time. I started as a Kitchen Team Member, became Kitchen Supervisor and then Assistant Manager. In the last four years I have been the Operations Manager, Kitchen Director and a member of a high performance leadership team.

As Operations Manager and Kitchen Director I have overseen operations of the entire restaurant, with specific goals of achieving Operational Excellence in areas of Speed of Service, Taste of Food, Attentive and Courteous Employees, and Cleanliness. I have direct oversight of the food and labor costs associated with the restaurant, and have succeeded in keeping labor costs in the top 20 percentage chain wide.

Training and developing team members, ensuring quality and striving to be surprisingly fast are my top priorities. Daily planning and logistics considerations are a part of my management of the restaurant. I create the schedule on a weekly basis and I ensure that the store is prepared for the projected sales volume and catering commitments of each day while keeping inventory low. I set the tone for the restaurant by presenting an upbeat approach to each day.

My training has included multiple visits to the corporate office in Atlanta for leadership training and a Grand Opening Certified Trainer seminar. Participation in a Reflective Listening leadership class, attaining ServSafe certification with a 95 percentage test score, and completion of the S.E.R.V.E. model leadership segments offered by Chick-fil-A are other notable achievements.

August 2006 to August 2008

Artek, Inc. Fort Wayne, IN

Shipping/Receiving

I ensured that every order I shipped was 100 percentage accurate in content and quality. I worked with other section leaders to obtain appropriate product in a timely fashion. Operating under a shipping deadline, I met or exceeded time standards while also paying great attention to detail in all areas of safety and quality.

I am trained on various pieces of industrial equipment, including: forklifts, saws, planers, and mixers.

Education

2009 IPFW Fort Wayne, IN

Associate of Science Business

I have approximately one semester left to complete my Bachelor's Degree in General Studies with an anticipated Minor in History.

I studied Army doctrine at Officer Candidate School, including the Army's Troop Leading Procedures and mission planning using the five paragraph Operations Order format.
