Graded weekly quizzes, returning them within the class period to the students, and graded selected problems from the assigned
homework by the next class period.

Aspiring Teacher
During the school year program, taught a mathematics course of my own creation to middle school students in grades 7 and 8.
The course was titled Navigating Mathematics. In the boat-themed course, students further developed their geometry and
problem solving skills in the six class periods.
In the summer component of the program, was originally contracted to teach in the math department, but was asked to be a
science teacher for the summer and designed a physics course with a superhero theme called Superhero Physics.
Was an adviser to ten students in the program and worked with them to ensure that they met the program benchmarks.

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Facilitator August 2009 December 2009
Held weekly PAL sessions for two sections of Math 1051, Precalculus 1. Incorporated suggested problems from the professor into
activities which ranged from worksheets to games, where the main focus of the session is peer learning.
During the sessions, acted as a facilitator by redirecting questions to other members of the class and clarifying any points of
confusion the students may have.
PAL Mathematics Team Lead and Facilitator December 2009 - May 2010
Continued to hold PAL sessions for Math 1271, Calculus I, three times each week. Chose problems with care for the students to
work on in groups. Students would collaborate and while I would carefully monitor the groups.
Led weekly meetings of all the Math Facilitators either in person or generated a topic of discussion for the facilitators to respond
to on a wiki to continue to develop their professional skills.
