Assigned to the Conversion Team responsible for converting hospital acquisition data into Health Management Systems (HMS) databases, CHS's primary Health Information Technology. Most of CHS's hospitals used this software for their financial, patient accounting and clinical applications. The hospital data originated from other database systems such as HCA PA, Keene, Meditech, Medetech Bar, SERIES, SMS and Star. Databases converted were Master Patient Index, Patient Accounting and Healthcare Information Management. The conversion tasks are all related to populating the data to CHS Standards. One of the major tasks associated with converting data from an acquired hospital into the HMS database was associated with building cross reference tables. These tables are referred to as cross walks. Cross reference tables are used by many of the conversion programs that enabled codes in the acquired hospital system to be mapped to CHS codes that represent the same meaning.

Worked closely with the CHS deployment team and user to identify data required for the conversion and data validation to support the hospital implementation. Provided conversion activity such as:

Uploaded Excel spreadsheet into the appropriate HMS Master File.

Resolved data problems related to records containing invalid or missing data, inconsistent data types with the HMS database and duplicate records.
