EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Formally recognized for conducting comprehensive national elder care study (ACOVE) in

association with RAND for a national health insurance provider, achieving a 96% response rate, and

nationwide diabetic eye-care study. Performed medical record abstractions and data collection for multiple

clinical drug studies for FDA and pharmaceutical firm in association with Rand.

Evaluated data collection tools proposing changes for specificity and clarity applicable to clinical

situations. Educated research participants increasing the acquisition of data. Identified standards

documentation/compliance using retrospective in-patient and physician site-based reviews.

Audited medical records for HEDIS data collection, NCQA accreditation, physician credentialing

and behavioral health appeals and denials. Employed root cause analysis to identify barriers and develop

interventions to improve HEDIS outcome data, establish guidelines to improve end-of-life care, and

develop care standards for the critically chronically ill patient.

Developed evidence based pain management policy and procedures to comply with JCAHO

standards for a community health care agency improving staff competencies. Contributed to multi-

discipline panel discussion for Rights of the Dying video for ACLU to raise consumer awareness. Co-

founded a Nursing Ethics Committee in a 100-bed community hospital instrumental in the development of

a Limitations-of -Therapy policy.
