Acute inpatient hospital serving an adult population with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses.

Duties: Conducted three group therapy sessions per day twice weekly for acute adult inpatient

population, including both group process and art expression forms of therapy. Conducted

psychosocial assessments and assisted with milieu therapy. Assisted in the development of a

curriculum for a psycho-educational Life Skills Group on Harbor Pines Unit, and conducted

same group twice weekly.

Nonprofit agency primarily funded through the Alzheimer s Disease Initiative of the State of

Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

Duties:

(1.) Group Co-facilitator for a Caregiver Wellness Group serving family members and

caretakers of clients experiencing memory loss and dementia (08/1999 05/2000). The

group provided support to individuals in the care-taking role, and offered educational

information of ways for caretakers to meet their own needs.

(2.) Group Co-facilitator for Memory Hygiene Group, a six week support and training

group for individuals who have adequate memory capabilities, but still have concerns

about their daily memory functioning (03/1999 05/1999). Trained other therapists to

lead similar groups.

(3.) Conducted Memory Screenings, and assisted with differential diagnosis and treatment

planning of outpatient clients as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Weekly triage meetings of the team included a neurologist, a neuropsychologist, a

research psychologist, a social worker, and doctoral level students in neuropsychology.
