Business, Scientific, and General Applications.
Object-Oriented Technologies and C++ Instructor.
Education: MS
in Computer Science, MIU, Fairfield, IA, USA, 1986. BS
Electronic Engineering,
Universite' de Bordeaux, France, 1976.
Baccalaureat "C" (Math & Physics Double Major), France, 1973.
Skills:
Technical Leadership. Teaching (especially C++ and Object Modeling).
Product Analysis and Definition. Object Oriented Analysis, Design,
Implementation, Test,Debug and Maintenance. Rumbaugh's Object-Oriented
Modeling and Design and Unified Method. Visual C++, MFC. C++, C,
Pascal, Scheme. HTML 3.0. Windows, Windows NT, DOS and UNIX operating
systems. GUI analysis and design in Visual C++ as well as X-Motif.
Algorithm design & optimization. 3D Visualization. Scientific
Application Algorithms. Business and Accounting Algorithms. Reliable
and Maintainable Code. Professional History:
High-Tech Systems, Inc
. -
August/95
--PresentOwner
Created a very popular course on Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
using OMT-- The Object Discovery ) Program--, and taught it to several
companies and independent consultants.
Co-authored another course: "Business Process Reengineering: The
Object Model Advantage" also based on Object Modeling.
Created the web site for the above programs, using HTML.
Provided on-site mentoring for senior analysts to adopt the
Object-Oriented Paradigm, while helping put together their core Domain
Model.
High-Tech Systems, Inc
. - March/95 to July/95Owner
Put together a team of three senior C++ and Visual C++ experts to help
a major accounting company in Chicago clarify specs and write the code
necessary to implement parts of their new accounting product.
Personally participated full time to the work, especially in training
one partner for Object Modeling, and writing the C++ and MFC code for
parsing ASCII files and importing the records to the new OO database
model.
HRSoft, Inc
. Fairfield, April 1994 - Feb/95: Senior Software Engineer.
Analysis, Design, and Management of a Complete Multi-table Import
System from a DOS old-fashioned database to a new Relational Database
Product. Comprised 75 tables and over 3,100 fields. Also wrote the
Visual C++ part of the project (up to 9,000 lines of code, 30
algorithm classes, and 10 GUI classes). Most of the C++ design and
coding was done in three months. Included the creation of two static
libraries. The Visual C++ GUI's main features were: Multi-file
Selection/Browsing with auto-detection, Error Handling and Reporting,
on-line Help, Progress Messages, Progress Thermometer, and Cancel.
Vital Images Inc., Fairfield, 1990 - 1994. "Lead Engineer for
Geoscience Applications"
Creation of a Graphical 3D Annotations System for 3D Images.
Entire design and coding of a Persistent Object Oriented Database
System for Graphical 3D Objects. The whole project was in C++, using
UNIX shared memory and SGI Graphics. It included a run-time query
system, reports, ASCII and Binary Data Transfer features, dynamic
expansion tools, and an entire user C interface with full
documentation.
Design and implementation of an in-house Virtual Inheritance System
across the C++ and C languages to increase simplicity, encapsulation,
programming efficiency and robustness in a mixed-language environment.
Creation of a Seed-fill based Sub-volume Detection Product to
automatically reveal special features like tumors for Medical
Applications or Oil Reservoirs for Oil & Gas Applications. This
product contained significant GUI with input fields, buttons, and
pop-up menus. A great deal of emphasis was put in producing one of the
fastest 3D-filling algorithms on the market. It was accomplished by
combining the knowledge found in several different research papers
with the power of C++.
Analysis, design, management, and coding of the first Geoscience
Product of Vital Images (VoxelGeo). Technical lead and one of the main
programmers of a team of three to five people. Built the core
technology ("GeoTools") for it.
Major maintenance work on the company's main product.
Analysis of new products with the User Group.
Analysis and design of the new version of VoxelGeo with an end-user.
Lead the creation of an entire class hierarchy to encapsulate most of
the X-Motif GUI classes (provided extended consulting on the OOPS
design and C++ implementation).
Provided management and technical guidance on research and development
of C++ classes and graphics rendering features using SGI's gl and
OpenGL.
Has produced around 34,000 lines of reliable C++ code (with comments)
for Vital Images.
High-Tech Training
1993-1995, Owner:
Taught Object Oriented Modeling and C++ to 20 software engineers in
Fairfield. They gave very strong evaluations and about 10 of them are
now using OOP and C++ in their daily job.
Corporate Education Resources, 1986-1990: "Project Manager and
Software Engineer"
Definition, analysis, development management, and test of the
Applicant SEARCH Software (CER, 1986-1987 involved a team of 4-5
programmers.
Debug and enhancement (using ZIM) of the above software (1987-1988).
Completion of several programming projects in C. ).
Creation/development of an entire C++ Interactive Test and Development
System for all the CER "CORE Group" Data Base and User Interface
system (1988-1989). ). Analysis and design of User Interface C++
Classes (window-like system). Analysis, code, and delivery of a fancy
universal menu system for DOS systems "The Organizer" (Actually built
some kind of a 4th Generation Language from C Created in 3 days a
word-processor prototype with special features like on-line database
field insertion, key-stroke macros, and others. Created a Polymorphic
Window-Based Menu System using C++ and the CORE tools.
IBM France 1977-1984, "Electrical Engineer"
Creation of an HF digital & analog signal generator for "IBM Picolo
test equipment" June 1976, IBM-Bordeaux, France. Complete design,
management, test, and delivery of a tachymetric sensor device test
equipment for IBM 3420 tape driver (IBM Montpellier 1978). Design
analysis, test design, implementation, and debug of 3 test equipments
for three main projects. (IBM Bordeaux, 1979-1984.) Included both
digital and analog circuit design.
