Director Aug 00 - Sep 04 Haskell Indian Nations University Title III Strengthening Institutions Program Grant Led a US Department of Education grant with an annual budget of $350,000. Analyzed and addressed programming issues concerning retention, counseling, orientation, academic affairs, diversity and disability services to prevent gaps in, or duplication of, services. Hired, supervised and evaluated two full-time and two student staff members of the Student Academic Development Center, in addition to the Director of the Cultural Center and Museum. Initiated and developed the plan for a one-stop student center to centralize student services and maximize institutional resources. Coordinated and taught Haskells first-year student orientation course, Vision Quest 101 and revised course objectives to address topics such as university policies, institutional procedures, career exploration and academic skill development.

Under the direction of the Assistant VP for Student Affairs, led efforts to develop the Native American Achievement Program. Contacted, interviewed and tracked the progress of Native American students (first-year and transfer students) who participated in the program. Worked as an assistant to the Native American counselor. Organized and implemented the Navajo Summer Institute Program, a three-day on-campus orientation program for incoming Navajo first-year and transfer students.

Served as a resource and liaison for the Student Financial Assistance office. Met with first-year and transfer students and monitored student experiences during their transition as university students. Addressed areas of concern regarding financial aid services to American Indian students.
