AEG Industrial Automation Systems Corp. [Sub of AEG Germany]

A cold startup in North America, I had sales & marketing responsibility for 23 eastern states from a (home) office in Pittsburgh. As part of a five man startup team, we generated $100M of qualified quotations and booked $2M in sales the first year. The acquisition of Westinghouse Automation in 1990 ended the startup at which time, I volunteered for duty in China with the parent company. The territory produced several million of sales in 1992.

Davy McKee Automation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Sales Manager, Automation; A cold startup of a product was created (known as Thermod from the term "Thermal Model") and introduced to the industrial process control market. With a pilot installation and Iron & Steel directory to start with, I sold and commissioned 19, $250K systems in a two year period and took honors for profitability and control of expenses.

Ventel Inc., Santa Clara, California

VP, Western Regional Sales for an all distributor sales force in 11 States through a difficult transition (prices in free-fall as modems became a commodity). My territory bookings quadrupled (while northeast, southeast, midnorth and south-central declined); distributor count was methodically reduced from 200 to 37 by raising the bar to qualify & extensive training.

BEECH AIRCRAFT CORP. Wichita, Kansas & County Tipperary, Ireland

Manager, Int'l. Distr. Sales, Prod Sales Mgr., Turbine Aircraft and Manager of Special Mission and Airline Aircraft. I flew, demonstrated and sold turbine class aircraft to business, airlines and military (including Raytheon`s antisubmarine warfare & search and rescue technology). I moved from spot to spot at Raytheon's wish and left with the closing of the European sales office.

THE CROWLEY ASSOCIATES., NY, Stockholm & Pittsburgh (1966-80)

A recognized, NYC based International business development consulting firm providing sales representation, service, training, importing, business re-engineering, financing, etc. to International and Domestic clients. Profitable for 7 years and at its peak included offices (New York Midtown), a warehouse (West Mifflin, Pa.); retail stores (New York Soho, Ft. Lauderdale, Cincinnati, Chicago) and a permanent space in the merchandise mart (Chicago). We moved stored and broke-up containers via the port of Baltimore with our own truck, cranes, etc.; acted as our own customs broker; redistributed goods from Sweden, Denmark, England, France & Germany.

MISC. COMMENTS

I am an old guy! Finding and landing a good or better job has never been a problem. Compensation has always exceeded expectations. My credentials have never failed me. I am certain I still have marketable skills, albeit at much lower rates than was once possible. I have worked all of my life and would like to continue, full time, part time or contract, temporary or permanent. We are two people with a large motor home that can be relocated anywhere immediately. At age 72 and 68 we are very comfortable financially and do not require benefits or health care. We recently sold our two functioning retail stores in Cloudcroft, NM and would like to begin another activity. There are no restrictions on our ability to relocate or travel.
