Served as treasurer, and later vice president of two different Chamber of Commerce boards. Actively bringing businesses to town. Won the best new business of the year award.

Worked with the town of Syracuse, Indiana as a member of the Syracuse Wawasee Area Development Corp. to buy property and establish a new Industrial park.

Established a chaplain program for the Elkhart County Sheriffs Department and became a Critical Incident Stress Management resource for the Elkhart County Emergency Management agency.

Served on the Indiana Faith Based and Community Initiatives board for 6 years - involved in the decision making process of special state funding of not-for-profit organizations.

Developed and directed a multi-county training session (recognized by the State of Indiana) for fire departments.
