BD'S MONGOLIAN GRILL Milwaukee, WI.

General Manager

Enhanced the techniques of developing good and profitable relationships through the diligent application of my financial, sales and management background, from total budget formulation to analytical P&L deciphering and communication skill sets. That has been the hallmark of my career, and I have consistently demonstrated outstanding results. Before I started as General Manager, the restaurant was being run by the District Manager along with his many other responsibilities. As a result a number of critical things were not getting done. I started by implementing the policies and procedures necessary to control turnover and resolve any conflicts between employees. I brought the store up to par within 90 days, training the staff, creating a more efficient operation and increasing sales as well as bottom line profits.

June 2000 to May 2007

BREADS OF THE WORLD dba PANERA BREAD Denver, CO

District Manager

Recruited by this major franchise to transfer the "Panera" brand, philosophy and corporate culture to the new locations. From August, 2000 until May of 2001 I was the Special Projects Manager establishing relationships and contacts with vendors, purveyors, and distributors for the initial cafeé openings in this new and expanding market. Using a hands-on approach, my conflict resolution skills were frequently being tested when I instituted a cooperative arrangement with the various subcontractors, making certain that they were all working together rather than arguing over incidentals. Worked directly with construction superintendent to ensure timely build out and permit approvals. Maintained dialog with architects to remedy obstacles and challenges presented during construction.

In May of 2001, I assumed the role of Regional Recruiter, spearheading the recruiting and hiring of the initial team of managers. Initiated the training of all personnel for 5 new store openings following corporate strategies and standards. Worked with training teams to insure first-rate operations and customer service during openings.

By early 2002 I was awarded a promotion to District Manager. I developed a strong team of managers and reduced turnover at all levels creating an efficient and productive team. This launched a 5 percent sales growth in my territory and as a result I achieved District Manager of the Year in 2003.

January 1996 to August 1999

PANERA BREAD CORPORATE St. Louis, MO

General Manager

My success is grounded on my marketing and sales skills in new business development, as evidenced by the growth I achieved for this company. I was hired originally as an Assistant Manager but was quickly promoted to General Manager. I demonstrated my ability to think strategically and act tactically when I implemented a three-step formula for growth in the St. Louis location. Step 1, Identify job guidelines and company procedures, provide accountability and performance evaluations. Step 2, Bring the right people on board and train them to be successful. Step 3, Improve operations, increase productivity, reduce turnover and increase sales. As a turnaround specialist I identified the critical problem areas that were preventing success and created opportunities that ensured substantial positive change in the business. The end result was a detailed action plan for immediate and long-term improvement.
