Rescue Department. Held the position of EMS Captain for Battalions 1 and 2
and served as Lieutenant for 14 years.
Supervision of 52 personnel including Paramedics and Emergency Medical
Technicians between two Districts containing 13 fire stations.
Duties encompass command of fire incidents, coordination of medical scenes
and other emergency incidents.
Acted as Safety Officer on emergency incidents, performed quality assurance of
transport billing and monitoring of Emergency Medical patient reports for
compliance.
Duties also included investigation/intervention of citizens complaints along with
interagency concerns.
Orange County Fire Rescue Division May 1991 to June 1999

LIEUTENANT
Promoted to Lieutenant for Orange County Fire Rescue Division. Assumed the
responsibilities for a 5-member crew and day-to-day station management.
Duties included cross training for the SQUAD, and answering Fire and EMS
calls. During this time period frequently filled in temporarily as EMS Supervisor
until permanent assignment was made.
Filled the Battalion Chiefs position on several occasions, assuming all required
duties of supervision of an entire Battalion, manning and payroll.

Participated in an exchange program with Crita-Care EMS from Canada
and assisted them with developing their Preceptor program.
At the request of District Chiefs, submitted for approval SOP for overtime
hiring of EMS Supervisor.
Volunteered to write and distribute the EMS Supervisor guidebook.
Assisted in designing the area map book for the opening of Station 27 in
Northwest Orange County.
Took part in the "Train the Trainer" class for the Life-Pack 12 with
subsequent distribution county wide of 75 cardiac monitors.
Participated in the 3 day "Train the Trainer" class for the Lotus Notes
EMS reporting system. Subsequently instructed District personnel.
Participated in "Train the Trainer" program for Terrorism.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITES
Assist with Explorer Post 2 community service projects including annual
holiday visit with the Russell Home, Healthy Kids Day at YMCA, food
distribution projects, Car Seat check points, Fire Safety Day and others.
DIVIDENDS Volunteer for Seminole County School Systems.
Completed CDC training for Vaccine Preventable Diseases for
participation in community health fairs to increase vaccination rate of
school age children.
